It's weird how things change over a period of two years: Today the engineered now headrest has a "12-year manufacturer warranty" according to their website while the Atlas only comes with a "a 3-year parts warranty". Also, worrying comments and even a YT video can be found about deteriorating mesh on the Atlas after only a few years. (maybe there would be such a thing on engineered now one if it was more popular, the who knows)

Thanks for a good and informative video. After looking at your videos I decided to go for the Atlas headrest and I just got it today for the graphite aeron remastered, and it's really a perfect match and fit and I love it! :) And I think that the Atlas looks more sleek and less bulky than the Engineered Now, even if it's longer behind, but less parts directly behind the headrest. Also I prefer made in USA rather than China. The funny thing is that the headrest even smells the same as my new Aeron chair.

Really appreciate all the content that you provide on these topics; my used Aeron is now pretty much a family member. I installed the Atlas about 14 months ago now, and it was a very worthwhile investment. Great build quality, very adjustable, stays where you put it, and very comfortable. Looks factory as well; you'd never know that it was aftermarket. I'm 6'2", and use a size C chair, but I'm very long in the torso, so the headrest is, frankly, a big deal for me; super happy to have this option available.

Return the Engineered Now, and got the Atlas, just much better, better quality, build, and confort

Great video, thanks! At the end you mention the problems of the H3 headrest while using headphones. Do you have the same problem with the atlas headrest or is it free of such problems?

I did not experience the problem with the headphones with the Atlas or the Engineered Now H4. -RB

I just bought an Aeron and a headrest from Atlas. Everything is brand new. I received the Atlas headrest before the chair even arrived, as I knew I'd need a headrest. Well... I'm only 5'11" (long in the torso, though) and I can't get the Atlas to feel comfortable. It's not high enough. I prefer the headrest on my head vs my neck. Does the V4 go higher than the Atlas? I'm worried maybe I ought to have gotten a Size C chair but am only about 70kg figured it'd be overkill. Frustrating to have all this amazing kit and still not be comfy. :(

I actually like the aesthetics of the Atlas more because the arm fits nice with the new frame/shape of the back support, and when i look at it, i can immediately see i can adjust everything seperately, also the depth, instead of that stupid rocking motion of the others.

TLDR: Atlas is superior in every way except looks and price along with warranty and is well worth the 30$ extra especially if you spent this much already on the chair

You have to pay for return shipping for EN headrests now. The construction was fine but the headrest was too narrow and the hard edges arent great for headphones. I ended up getting the Atlas cushion headrest instead

Rocking the fabric v1 version for 4 years now, no complaints. Just ordered the new fabric larger version.

It's definitely shady, but we would have heard about any issues from people who have owned their headrests for a long time. From what I've seen the main complaints people have had, is that the headrest can push their head too far forward or that the mesh is not as comfortable as the cushion. I don't think anyone has faulted the build quality, because the parts are from the same suppliers that Herman Miller uses.

I've bought the engineered now headrest, didn't know about atlas, but just purchased one, gonna return the one I don't like. I can say though, the engineered now is very stiff, I feel like I'm laying my head down on an arm rest. Secondly, although it looks super cool, it's movement isn't great, and I'm one of those people, where I can't get it to line up, so it's very uncomfortable for me

Have you ever come across a case where either the Atlas or Engineer Now break the Aeron? Is that even possible?

Yes it is, much more common with EN products, as Herman Miller has never tested their headrests with the Aeron chair. However, you can still damage the Aeron's backrest with the Atlas headrest, if you over tighten the bolts.
