In this video we'll go over how I have chosen to setup my Atlas46 JourneyMESH Chist Rig w/ Cargo Pockets V2. I will go over what accessories from Atlas46 I am using and why, plus what tools I carry daily in my chest rig so that I stay productive.

Nice thorough video, my friend. I've spent a lot of time looking for a user-friendly over-the-shoulders tool holder that also serves the simple purpose of conveniently holding what you need for marking your work. I'm constantly marking and/or scribing heavy timbers, so being able to reach pencils, squares, a tape measure and a razor knife is critical. Anyway, this Atlas46 chest rig looks the part. By the way, do you ever find that the "cargo pockets" hanging down in front hinder your ability to bend over and work? Thanks again.

It depends on what I have in them. The bigger tools like screw drivers squares and torpedo levels can sometimes make it feel kind of weird when bending over. I find that if you keep the bigger stuff to the outer two pockets and stock the middle pocket with your smaller gear it seems to help and feel more comfortable. I also have the open pocket v2 but if your sawing a lot the cargo pockets definitely keep the pockets from filling up with saw dust.

Is it hot when you are wearing it? I live in Indiana and its in the 90's right now. This would be one of the deciding factors. The other one would be if it is practical for carpentry jobs outside. Like deck and fence building etc. By the way your video was the best so far by way of explanation.👍

I am in Cincinnati, Ohio so pretty much the same temps here. 50% of my full time career is based outdoors and I wear pants an long sleeves even when it's 95° so I may not be the best judge. I will say I do sweat a little more wearing it but I suppose that's going to happen with any apron and maybe even be worse in a leather apron. I don't feel it's hot enough to take it off and loose what I gain from having everything with me. It does breath well with all the mesh. Yes I do believe it would be very practical for outdoor carpentry work. The time you save by having access to tools in your apron I feel is well worth a little extra heat. I hope this helps and I will be publishing my full review of this particular rig hopefully by Sunday evening. After this one I will be testing the JourneyMESH Open Pocket Chest Rig V2 with an initial overview and first impressions with comparisons between the two. Then in a few weeks a full review.

I wear a Saratoga though, not the journeyman. The Saratoga has Mesh material throughout the journeyman doesn’t.
