if i remember correctly, the last time atlus tried to remove raidou dlc in noctrune they received backlashes from the fans in those countries itself

@@ChiefMedicPururu You’d likely have to emulate it with Yuzu to use the Switch mid, so May as well just play on PC, it will run much better there anyway.

@@praetorxyn no, you can run switch mods on a regular switch, but you need to install a hacked firmware layer onto it first.

@@lenleon3699 Yup. They're probably unaware/didn't care enough to check. Atlus is usually good about only censoring stuff in the regions where the content needs to be filtered. At least as far as I know.

@@lenleon3699 from a business standpoint why invest in developing a game you already know will be banned in large parts of Asia? Instead they could develop a sequel to any of their other IPs and sell them in those areas. And now raidou is being censored in all regions.

@@jackw8338 Radou is being censored in “some” regions in all titles overseen by Atlus. I don’t think this was Atlus’ choice. As for your first question, you would have to argue how big the market in those regions for that IP is. Because Raidou and other Atlus’ properties were originally developed with Japan in mind. In fact, the Raidou series does NOT have official Korean or Chinese releases. The only Devil Summoner title released in any Asian country other than Japan was Soul Hackers 2.

It’s just Atlus flip flopping on the issue. They removed them from SMT3 in the past before they added them in Soul Hackers. So we never know when or if they will chose to keep them from whichever game.

@@lenleon3699 Maybe it's the based on how popular the game is. Persona is Atlus' juggernaut now so it'll probably teach more eyes than Soul hackers, hence they are more concerned with removing it there

@@lenleon3699 They removed Raido from nocturne on the korean and chinese markets, which they probably also did for SH2 In the west, nothing was removed, this was just Atlus being too lazy to make different versions

@@chronica6457 This was Atlus being lazy to make a port at all. Sega did this port on their own. There are articles confirming Atlus did not work on the port, it just has their logo because the game is still their IP..

Even more concerning, ports of Raidou's games aren't looking too likely. Kind of a shame given how expensive physical copies of it are these days.

Apparently I hear this was a Sega decision since Atlus was not working in the port. In other words that may explain it. As in, Atlus does not cares but whomever was in charge of the port did.

@@freeph78 Agreed, that is why fans where glad when Atlus USA retained rights over most Atlus localization efforts (SEGA handles ports and worldwide releases since Atlus lacks a localization company outside NA).

Persona is a mainstream game, other megami games are niche, so there won´t be any complaints.

@@necobubbles I mean you do not have to. Atlus has always handled this region by region and they personally publish the JP and NA versions of the games they develop in-house. In fact, as previously mentioned the Switch remaster was developed and published by Sega so unlike the video says this is not “Atlus being Atlus”, it is “Sega being Sega”.

well i'm playing on the switch and i'm obviously pissed because there's no other good costumes to make morgana wear and there's obviously no sonic costume either

Persona 5 Royal is my favorite game of all time so obviously you know which one I'd pick. Regardless, it's up to which one you'd like more. Sonic Frontiers seems like it'll be a good game and P5R is one of the most acclaimed games and JRPGs of all time. Guess it comes down to which type of game you want more, Sonic action/adventure or Persona JRPG.

This happened on the 3ds with story of seasons a trio of towns dlc which gave an extra male and female marriage canadate and was only available on north America only European and Japanese ones forget it what is Nintendo thinking.

They’d just make some small change change to it anyway like they did to the mustachioed German in Persona 2.

The new ports include all of the original DLC for free, except this one set.
