This is a singles set between me and Govind Nanda! Govind is a pro tennis playing on tour right now, ranked #388 in the world as of this video. Obviously there's a big difference in level here so he was nice enough to mix the points up with some easier playing and some regular playing. I play mostly from the baseline while Govind is probably more of an all court player. Hope you enjoy it! And give Govind a thanks in the comments below for being a great sport and playing this set with me for content!

That deep and low return put the server in the scramble mode right away . Of course, he followed it up with fantastic, precision angle shots (hardly anyone can do that reliably). I always felt that what differentiates higher level players is their return of serve. You serve with good pace, good action, decent placement, and it comes back like nothing.
@room1recording
@room1recording Жыл бұрын
Wasn’t that good a placement tbh. Bread and butter for club players never mind pros. Unless you’re hitting the corners then there needs to be action on the bounce
@timothyvenske6519
@timothyvenske6519 Жыл бұрын
@@room1recording I disagree. Watch again. The return bounces almost on the baseline. That depth makes it a good return. That is not “bread and butter” for club players, or even pros. For the server to hit that return back with quality you basically have to start backing up to make space as soon as you finish the service motion. Could also hit it on the rise, but that’s basically a half volley from the baseline. I’d call that poor shot selection unless the server is especially comfortable hitting on the rise. I think you may have not watched closely or are underestimating the importance of depth.

For that ball i would choose a laso wip forehand style down the line straight ahead moving little bit to the right to have space... Actually there was a period i was obsessed with this type of forehand....when it worked it was really a killer response....ball was almost invisible by most opponents as many of them in my tenis environments were not that experienced...it was so funny....even though it has backspin i would play it like this again...

Bro - I'm a 5.0. When I play against any atp pro, you have to be aggressive and make them run and/or hit hard. No way you can win by rallying. Hit hard forehand and come in whenever you can. They are trained to rally with you for hours and we can never outlast them

ATP pro ? It’s all happening because of the rackets and strings today. Do you think they will label themselves that if they had to use real tennis equipment, after their performance decreases by 75%. Because that’s what real pros had to use when the ATP was really the ATP. Now you have HS’ers who run around to 100 tournaments and if they get 1 point they claim they are an ATP pro.
