He was a stand up comedian's dream. Les Dawson loved doing him. We had a Scottish version of him called Pastor Jack Glass. I once dated his niece around 1980. Being a Catholic lad I used to dig up some of the bluenoses in my local pub that I was going convert. Pastor Jack had his principles and stuck to them. Nothing wrong with that.

As a child growing up in the 80s all I remember was watching the news everyday about bombs and violence in Belfast. I also remember Gerry Adam’s’ words were dubbed over whenever he was interviewed which I thought was odd. Only now am I able to appreciate and understand what the Irish people went through on both sides. Thanks for educating me.

Paisley would spread his hate and then distance himself from loyalist atrocities committed against innocent Catholics. Some would argue that he was a major factor in the tensions rising between the communities in the 60’s. I think that it was the head of the British Army in NI at that time who stated that Paisley funded the UVF’s false flag bombing campaign. Did Paisley help to get peace in Ireland? He opposed the GFA and campaigned against it. Was it for the betterment of NI or his ego that saw him enter Stormont with McGuinness? Paisley will not be remembered well in history. He stoked the fires of hatred and, depending on your own thoughts, was directly and/or indirectly responsible for the murders of many innocent people during the conflict.

Thank you for continuing your work to share with us these videos of the Troubles. “In the Englishman’s home” British Ex Servicemen of WW2 and later across England during 1970’s/80’s. They would shout at the tv upon sight of the late Dr Paisley, “shut up you loud mouth trouble making Bastard”. This man angered the English, English folk had no problems marrying a Catholic woman or man, and to hear him bellowing out hate speeches upset the English and turns them again the Protestant folk of the North, calling them Irish not British in insult. He’s words did capture the young boys of England for hate towards the Catholic, Irish and even the Scottish. National Front then British National Party showed support for the UDA but the problem was they couldn’t tell the difference between the two communities so must times called the Protestants Irish Bastards, as they are uneducated and I wasn’t about to educate anyone on Protestant history of the North, because soon as you tried you were called a “fenian bastard” Have a great Sunday and week to come everyone.

He was responsible for a lot of the hatred towards Catholics. I believe most of what he said about Rome and the pope, but he inflamed an ignorant protestant population who knew nothing about Irish history. Paisley was as bad as the Roman church he criticised. A hate filled narcissist, who founded his own church and allegedly did very well financially out of it.

Truth is the opposite, the official Vatican has been tied to funding the Cold War behind the scenes, murdering communizers and leftists. Do you even know anything about Operation Gladio? Also the Vatican stood quietly by Hitler when the Nazis were coming into power because they thought they were a better alternative to a NEW type of communist party winning in each post war country. This whole Communists are out to get Catholics or Protestants is ridiculous.
