Im from Newry but I was only born in 1982 so I would have missed all this… but to hear there were talks about the IRA holding the lines until the Irish army came north & took my town on their way to Belfast… I would have loved if that happened! I truly would have! The Irish army would have been welcomed as heroes coming into Newry. If it happened today there would be the same reaction!

Guessing watching this show it was 1970s . Herri Batasuna had 17% of the vote were SF only had 11% of the vote. I wonder in their wildest dreams would they have have predicted total autonomy and SF being the biggest political party on the island of Ireland. Our world does really change

Evil is as evil does. Maggie did a lot of evil. Reagan had the measure of her. Tip O'Neil forced her hand through him but at no stage did she intend to honor the terms of her agreement. "Out, out, out". She motivated a lot of people in Ireland. Probably not the motivation she intended I'm sure.

Looking at this from a perspective of living in a place with devastating wildfires every year I am shocked by the irresponsibility of the bonfires. Yes, the weather is warm and dry, and Belfast can quickly find out that isn’t a good thing. There needs to be limits!🔥
