Kungliga Operans kostymateljé visar hur man syr en klassisk balettkjol, en tutu, till Kungliga Baletten. Totalt används 70 meter tyll och arbetet tar ungefär 18 timmar.
The Royal Swedish Opera's costume departement demonstrates how they make a classic skirt for the Royal Swedish Ballet, a tutu. Approximately 70 meters of tulle is used and it takes around 18 hours.

hay ciertos detalles que no se alcanzan a apreciar , , ,estoy haciendo uno para mi sobrina y no sabia nada al respecto , este video me ayudó un poquito pero me deja algunas dudas, como se une el centro espalda del calzon?? there are certain details that fail to appreciate, I'm doing one for my niece and did not know anything about this video helped me a little but leaves some doubts, as he joins the center of calzon back ??

Hi this is a good insight into the making, but the video goes to fast in places. I really wanted to know more about the wire ring going in, then it skipped to the sewing machine. I thought a boning channel was created for inserting the ring, but form the few seconds on your video, it looks like the ring is being pinned in, but then it goes so fast I can't see how your sewing it on without using boning tape for channels to thread the wire through.

***** I do lots of tutorials on costumes, but I think if your going to do a full video showing form start to finish like I do, then you have to go slow in places other wise why show people , it did send my eyes funny. Was the channel made of something see through, when I make bodices I used a thick cotton bias tape say to insert boning into, but that is thick cotton tape. Just got to the interesting part on the video and couldn't see what was going on. Thanks very much is has given insight as said thank you from Tracy :)

Traybuff Come on :) dont be like that this a ballet company chanel, not costume chanel i work for 3 years making different kind of assembly a tutu and this is the professional way but isnt rocket science.

+Traybuff The Royal Swedish Opera costume departement is the only makers of tutus that use piano wire/string as a tutu hoop. All other Opera houses use (as far as i know), inlcuding the famous Marinskij/Kirov Opera house, use flat steel band crinolin wire. These come in white, unpainted or covered in cotton tape. The piano wire is already made into a closed ring (as seen in video) when inserted, unlike the procedure when using crinolin wire pulling it through the sewn channel.

erik v HI ok thanks, as seen in the video is funny thogh as said it goes to fast and yuo can't see anything. Like my tutorial videos I beleive if your going tot ake the time to show something and show people then it should be shown a normal speed. I presume when you say the wire is in a closed ring you mean it's already incased in a seperate fabric case/boning channel or boning tape. Thanks I don't ever wish to make one but I am interested in how things are constructed as sewing is not taught in school in england, my generation were never taught any or any basics.
