In the future you might think about a purple martin house. They migrate to our area around Valentine's Day and stay still mid-July. They are great insect mosquito eaters! The purple martin house needs to be up the first of February for purple martin scouts. You will also need a special bird house for them or a pole with gourds.

In Florida I've heard egrets called "cow birds" because they hang around cows.

Especially Friday - Sunday where there is combined of about 4 inches. Might be a good idea to ramp up the pressure with the leaders of Texas as well (Since those in Liberty County seem to be less than useless). I know you have plans in place, but we all still worry about your Family, the Community and... Most importantly, the babies.

Birds are amazing pest control! We have a pair of Eastern Pheobes that nest on our front porch every year and they keep the bug population on my porch to a good level. I love watching them raise their babies every year and watching the fledglings learn to fly.

Ugh. Mosquitoes are terrible in FL too. They are a killer for dogs if they get bit by one that infects them with heartworms. The majority of the strays that come into our shelter are heartworm positive because they werent on prevention. Its treatable but can still cause damage to the heart. Having all of that standing water near your property just sucks. I am praying that Liberty County gets their crap together to help the residents with the flood waters which can cause more awful things to happen to both humans and pets.

Whew...that's a lot of mosquitoes!! Hopefully Maggie has had her heartworm medicine. Im a boxer mom, and I just love Maggie and Trixie. Y'all take such good care of everyone.

We have E Grets around me area of South Carolina. I wish some would come inn yard. The mosquitoes are horribly I finally found some spray that kills them but doesn’t harm bees and butterflies. This a chore for tomorrow
