Warning: Season 3 is primarily world building, politics and character development not shonen-style action but what action it does have is really good so if you don't like weeks of meetings just be patient. ===== RIP Shizue Izawa😭 ===== Gobta evolved spiritually not physically. Essentially, his potential was unlocked. ===== Fun Fact: Rimuru's suspects King Gazel can read minds but Great Sage prevents Rimuru's mind from being manipulated or read. ===== Fun Fact: Spells can be pre-cast in order to avoid tedious incantations or hand signs in the midst of battle (as we see Mjurran doing last episode and this one) and then set on a trigger to be activated whenever the caster wants. The downside is that triggered spells can sometimes misfire or lose accuracy. The best way to counter this is to possess the Extra Skill Chant Annulment. *Chant Annulment* is an Extra skill that is used by Rimuru, Shuna and others as sub-skills under their Unique and Ultimate Skills. It eliminates the need for chanting when using magic after a spell is analyzed or successfully cast. The spell is stored in the user's mind and available to be instantly cast just by thinking about its activation. ===== Reminder on who Gard Mjöllmile is (including the cut parts): Mjöllmile's journey began as an orphan, a mere seven-year-old selling vegetables just to scrape by and survive. Yet, amidst the challenges, he discovered a profound joy in witnessing the smiles he brought to his customers' faces. This simple but impactful connection with people ignited a passion within him, guiding him onto the path of a merchant. As time passed, his determination and innate business acumen led him to new heights. Gradually, Mjöllmile managed to establish his own shop in the quaint Kingdom of Blumund, and he expanded his influence by establishing a branch in the grand Kingdom of Engrassia. Drawn by the prospect of new opportunities and connections, Mjöllmile was invited to join the ranks of Tempest. This offer, while enticing, presented a dilemma. He understood that parting with his established shop in Blumund could potentially be a disadvantage in the future. Therefore, he devised a clever solution - leaving a trusted head clerk in charge of the store, ensuring its continued operation while he ventured into the unknown. He had one in Rimuru's shadow, to keep an eye on him, and kept in contact with it using telepathy. ===== According to the Luminous Faith, monsters (aka any magical lifeform) have no legal rights. ===== *Holy Field* is a Holy magic spell. It's a technique usually maintained by several high level practitioners working in tandem. Within the radius of the barrier, purification of all magicules commences through a release of Holy Power. This outright kills any weaker monsters and those that manage to survive will find themselves greatly weakened and unable to use Elemental Magic and magic-derived skills. Compared to Prison Field, it is much denser and uniform in composition. ===== *Steel Strength* is an Extra skill and one of the Intrinsic skills of Vampires. ===== *Strengthen Body* is an Extra skill used by Rimuru and Shion. It allows the user to boost the strength of their muscles. ===== Hinata is a master swordswoman. The only special thing about the rapier in this episode is that it is enchanted with Dead End Rainbow. ===== *Dead End Rainbow* is an Art from the Rapiers used by Hinata Sakaguchi. Shizue's Ifrit was part monster. This is what Great Sage meant when telling Rimuru she isolated Ifrit as a pure spirit. ===== *Usurper* is a Unique skill of Hinata Sakaguchi. It specializes in "robbing," whether it is a skill or a summon like elementals and Daemons. Sub-Skills: -Copy: This main ability allows the user to copy and obtain the skills and arts of those they are fighting. -Seize: This main ability allows the user to rob power from their opponents, effectively weakening their skills and magic. Although this ability only works on those stronger than the user. -Force Takeover: This requires mastery of the Unique skill Usurper. It grants the user the ability to rob power even from those weaker than the user.

*_Background on Falmuth cont._* *Shogo Taguchi* is one of the Otherworlders summoned to serve the Kingdom of Falmuth. Shogo has an extremely prideful and self-centered personality, believing himself to be better than everyone else due to his immense strength. His crude attitude and lack of manners resulted in him struggling in most social situations, something that he didn’t make an effort to change even in-front of a king. This resulted in Razen implanting a trigger that would force him to remain silent with just a word. Back in Japan, Shogo was a delinquent high school student in a bottom-ranking school. The environment around him was extremely conducive towards violence, creating or amplifying Shogo’s violent tendencies. At the age of seventeen, Shogo was summoned to the Central World to serve the Kingdom of Falmuth against his will by a sorcerer named Razen. Razen placed a Locking Curse onto Shogo’s soul but not before Shogo managed to kill all thirty of the assistant sorcerers that performed the ritual. Afterwards, Shogo was forced to learn their language and was placed on a training regiment that had him facing off against the nation’s knights on an almost daily basis. His powerful Unique skill - Berserker - combined with the Karate he’d practiced since he was a child and the training he received turned Shogo into that nation’s most powerful living weapon. Rank: Special A ===== *Kirara Mizutani* is one of the Otherworlders summoned to serve Falmuth. Kirara was originally a carefree girl with a gal-like personality, caring very little for studying and only about hanging out with her friends. She was selfish, but she had loving parents who didn’t overly stress her out about it. After being abducted to another world she became increasingly unstable, something only amplified by the bullying of her captors who looked down on her. After her usefulness as a weapon was discovered, Razen lied to her and said that he would send her home to her family one day if she proved her usefulness. This caused her to completely dissociate from reality, viewing the whole world and everyone around her as being not real. She repressed all of the guilt she felt for killing people and pushed all the blame and responsibility onto others, her immature and childish mind being unable to handle the burden. Kirara was originally just an ordinary fifteen-year-old high school student back in Japan, with loving parents and she even had a boyfriend. However, she was eventually whisked away to the Central World against her will by a sorcerer named Razen, who placed a Locking Curse on her soul. Afterwards she was forced to explain her Unique skill, but struggled to understand it and explained it poorly due to the language barrier. This resulted in her being deemed a failure and she was treated poorly by her captors afterward. The bullying she endured from those around her, combined with the frustrations of being forced to study a brand new language, eventually resulted in her having a mental breakdown after a few months, which ended with everyone around her committing suicide due to Bewilder's ability. Afterwards, she was trained as a weapon and became unable to use her Unique skill unless ordered to. Rank: Special A ===== *Kyoya Tachibana* is a Summoned Otherworlder who came under the control of Falmuth. Unlike his fellow summoned Shogo and Kirara, Kyoya did not have a hatred for the world he was summoned into, instead having an intense curiosity for the various fantastical aspects of the world, such as Magic and Skills. He was calm and intelligent, not acting rashly in-front of others and remaining cooperative with Razen despite hating him as much as Shogo and Kirara did. He acted much like a cat would, being aloof and always hiding his intentions while also having a tendency to slowly toy with his kills before finishing them off, deriving a sort of sadistic pleasure from the act. Similar to Shogo and Kirara, Kyoya was originally born and raised in Japan before being summoned to the Central World. However, unlike those two, Kyoya wasn’t summoned by Falmuth and was instead summoned by an unknown western nation prior to being acquired by Razen. He was also summoned at a much later date, having been in the Central World for only two years as opposed to the three years endured by Shogo and Kirara. Rank: Special A ===== *Razen* is the Chief Wizard of the Kingdom of Falmuth and oversaw its many Otherworlder Summonings. Razen is a prideful individual who believes he's one of the best wizards there is. But he's also wise and knowledgeable enough that he knows that there are many opponents that even he could not beat. Like many in Falmuth, Razen is shown to be extremely selfish and cruel, happily summoning and enslaving people from other worlds, only to later sacrifice them to increase his own power, made worse by the fact he destroys their souls rather than simply killing them. Despite these negative qualities, he is fiercely loyal to those whom he pledged his loyalty towards and has served the Kingdom of Falmuth for hundreds of years. Rank: S ===== *Reyhiem* is an archbishop of the Western Holy Church and is the most powerful religious figure in the Kingdom of Falmuth. He is (on paper, at least) on an equal position of power as the king himself given Falmuth's adoption of Luminism as its state religion. That is just a formality, however; in reality, Reyhiem is more of a trusted right-hand man, taking his cues from the king. Reyhiem is an opportunistic coward who always curries favor with authoritative individuals, even going as far as to talk about Monster extermination being a matter of course one moment, then offering himself as a lobbyist for the interests of Tempest's Monsters right after. However he is also earnest in fulfilling his current role as long as he isn't inclined to change his allegiance. ===== *Folgen* is the Knight Leader of the Kingdom of Falmuth. Folgen is seen as a dependable leader, and a trusted retainer that King Edmaris can depend on. However, he also seems to care little for fellow Otherworlders, seeing them as mere "materials" to strengthen himself using his Unique skill Spearhead. He is a champion with a long military history. He was summoned by Razen long ago, but had no curse restricting his soul and instead choose to become Razen's underling willingly, as a friend. Rank: Special A

Full goblin mode

Very, very good idea to do Season 2 in triplets. The rhythm of 3 works out perfect for the 1st cour; and pretty dang close to perfect for the 2nd cour, too. Couple small points - no spoilers: 1. The attack *seems* coordinated - and the efforts of Falmouth & the Church truly are - but the parties involved in this attack didn't all meet before hand and plan it out. There was a bit of opportunism and right-place-right-time going on. It will be more fully addressed in Season 3. But yeah, Tempest really got a 'one, two' sucker punch. 2. Just a tidbit of Goblin trivia: Gobbo's evolve into Hob-Gob's, as demonstrated in S1 Ep3, and normally, usually they take on a full size human form. However, this isn't allways the case. Thus we have Hob-Gob's like Gobuta & Gobuzo that retain their 'goblinesque' figure and diminutive size, but do gain the superior strength, intelligence, and mental development/higher level thinking from their naming-instigated evolution. (The entire evolution tree of Goblins is actually quite robust, but that's a discussion for another day...)
