Even in the first special during the Rumbling scene despite Hayashi's masterclass Direction and Storyboard there were a few scenes where I thought the composition and photography was off with the overly bright yellow backlight washing out the detail in the foreground. It never made sense to me but I didn't mind given how it was just there for a couple of scenes that lasted no more than 2 seconds but now it's *GONE*. Everything looks so picturesque and cinematic. This is probably the cleanest photography work for the Final Season and they've pulled it off in a big way for the finale episode. Pieck's transformation had no business looking so clean. I knew there would be some incredible animation but the photography area is where I was secretly hoping for improvements and they gave me what I wanted. This bout to be 1h 26m of absolute cinema and I'm all here for it
