hey guys i need ur help. so im a highschool girl w really good grades. i asked my mom for a double peircing 6 months ago, she said "yes but only if u still want it in 6 months, then ill think abt it." so i waited 6 whole months before asking again, she said yes only if my dad agrees. my dad said "not until ur 22" which is kinda stupid cuz i can get it once im 18.... but anyway, he kept comapring me to all these other kids "why cant u be like ___ she does dance and singing, etc" and im like yeah shes good at dance and singing, but i have my own strengths, like if ur gonna comapre me to her, then look at my strengths too, like i have super duper good gardes. and hes like.. "y dont u do dance like her?? then maybe ill let u get it" ok but if hes gonan comapre me to her, he gotta know that my grades r better than hers, but hes only looking at my weak points comapred to her strong points. and... 22?? umm he aint gonna control my life when im 22.

@@yours1ana first, don't let him compare you bc you are your own person. Second, tell him you waited 6 months. And maybe tell him you'll buy it yourself. Plus it's your body. Not his to control 🥰😘 don't disrespect him cause he's ur dad, but find a compromise

"y don't u do dance like her?? then maybe ill let u get it" ok but if he's gonna compare me to her, he gotta know that my grades r better than hers, but he's only looking at my weak points compared to her strong points. and... 22?? umm he ain't gonna control my life when i'm 22.and plus he acts like its gonna affect my studies, like... i don't see house a little hole in my ear is gonna affect my brain/learning abilities??? like how is that even connected?? the only reason i even have my first piercing is because its in my culture, if it wasn't, then i wouldn't have my first piercing either. plus my mom said yes, and its not like me having another piercing affects him...? im not asking him to get his eair pierced, so why does he have such a big problem with it? he always makes me feel guilty by saying how i quit dance and tennis and stuff... but he never praises my grades, my perfect 4.0, he only notices the things im not good at. hes like... why dont u wash the dishes? ok but does he see my cleaning my room or loading the dishwahser without anyone telling me to? no. but hes sees what i dont do. its so annoying and i went through a depressive stage because he made me feel guilty abt smth. i dont get why he always has to see the worst part of me and the best in everyone else. like even my sister, she does dance, but he doesnt care because she does hollywood dance and not bollywood dance. he only cares if we do bollywood. and like idk why hes making such a big deal out of a tiny ear lobe piercing, and when i said that im allowed to get one at 18 not 22, he was like... "if ur gonna get one without asking, then y r we a family" and like yall dont get me wrong hes a nice person, and when i was younger he was the best dad ever and we were super close, but as i became a teen we drifted apart and he started ignoring me and stuff. HOW SHOULD I GO ABOUT ASKING HIM FOR A DOUBLE PIERCING AGAIN?

@@yours1ana i m feeling lil bad for you, sometimes we have strict parents. I think u should comunicate with him about that problem that he always points out your weakness. Tell him that a piercing wont change your character and promise him to do something like get an A or good % if you let me do it or after getting A i will do it like so. I also have strict parents and a lot of restrictions.

​@@yours1anahi , i just thought i should reply because i wanted to make you feel heard. Well, ik this is from one year ago, but if you're reading this, i get you, cuz I'm a teen too. I'm not here to take sides, but i think you should wait till you're 22 cause even if you manage to get piercings behind his back, you'll end up feeling guilty, so i suggest you listen to him and if he stops you even at 22 explain to him that you waited all this while cuz you really respected his opinion/decision as a minor and that now you're wise and old enough to take decisions for yourself. Also, if parents compare you to others, it doesn't mean they dont love you, it's just that they really want you to do well in life, so don't take that seriously, u're amazing the way you are. Don't worry, life can really be shitty being a teenager, you feel like nobody understands you, but give it some time, i promise everything will fall into place. @@priyanka.khianey05 ya, he is such a good dad, but he takes some things rly seriously that arent even that deep. like my sister likes to keep her hair open, and he doesnt like it bc the place in india he grew up, they always expect women to keep their hair tied. he doesnt say anyhing abt it often, but every now and then hell mention it and it pisses me off. and the piercing thing, he thinks it loooks trashy or smth. even tho a double piercing is so normal. and idk how a piercing effects my studies? like he says i should focus on my studies, not peircings, but like all ima sking for is a double, and my grades r good. i stay up til like 1am studying. so idk why he thinks my priorities are shifting toward fashion and away from studies? like why cant it be both. i agree, im not going to get it behing his back bc i will feel guilty bc he is a good dad. but it still annoys me bc like how does me getting a piercing effect him? and he constantly wants us to do dance and stuff bc thats what indian girls normally do. and he wants to show off to hjis friends. cuz all of his friend's kids are super talented and do a million things. ill ask abt the peicring hting again in a little while, maybe when im 17. its so annoying tho, bc ive thought abt it for a while, and i do want a peiricng. and its not permanent, itll go away if i stop putting earrings in. he jsut makes a big deal out of anything thats not consiered normal to him bc he grew up in a more religious conservative family in india. but like, indians like jewelry rt? so idk the problem with a simple double peircing. sorry i ranted again, u dont have to read that. but thank u for replying, and i agree, i will wait until i have his agreement.
