Cool filmed and aweseome journey, but please for the unexperienced people dont see this as a trailer that you want to do it this on this way, get a guide, book the huts, no hand made "inventions", this is wy the Mont Blanc is so dangerous it gets to many tourists, eating ice for water come on.

Doesn’t look like there was much beta done by uncle Gerry - arrived late first day, didn’t research camping at tete rousse etc. Imo it is foolish not inspirational to be unprepared.

Great film, however i think that the whole trip was super irresponsible and people really shouldnt do stuff like that. Without the permits, the experience or the skills and even basic knowledge about the region/ situation etc. you are just threatening the life of yourself and if something happens the life of others. Dont take this as an example of how to go out mountaineering!!

Nice storytelling, especially under those conditions. However, probably one of the most irresponsible climbs that I have seen here. You guys are really lucky about the outcome. Please book a guide, check the weather forecast and be way more prepared. Problem is that in case of problems up there, huge risks will undertaken by the gendarmerie to attempt in rescuing you. Happy you guys are alive. Peace.

Absolutely unbelievable that you would take a group of inexperienced young adults up a mountain like Mont Blanc unroped for a large period of travel over crevassed terrain. You were very, very lucky and all I can say is that anyone watching this video please do not except this as the norm but as a very serious "roll of the dice". Life is all about taking risks and having fun but those risks need to be mitigated with basic winter skills when walking in the high mountains. There is a reason that guides on Mont Blanc are only permitted to take 2 clients at a time. Glad you made it and the video is beautifully done but your Uncle really has been incredibly irresponsible ! Did any of you even have the faintest idea on what to do if any of you had fallen into one of the many crevasses that criss-cross the route ?

Good storytelling, love the spoken German, proper information on what you did and how, and added value anytime something was shared about Month Blanc 20 years ago. Everyone seems authentic. I do wonder however how the group would have fared if something unexpected had happened, e.g. a sudden and prolonged thunderstorm at the worst possible moment.

The cinematograoghy is undeniably great. However, these sort of reckless adventures are precicely what makes the Mont Blanc one of the deadliest mountains in the world. The quote at the end is absolutely ridiculous given the circumstances. Please dont ever do something like this again, it is pointless risking of your and the mountain rescues lives. It seemed to me that your group went up there at times unprepared at best and dangerously reckless at worst. I have no idea how your uncle could have ever agreed to this expedition seeing the level of preperation you guys had. He was also apparently basing his guidance on his experience from over 20 years ago on the mountain?? Im glad no real accident occured on this tour but this was, sorry, just plain stupid. I guess theres already enough people in the comments who said so but to anybody watching this: Do not take this as inspiration to approach high altitude mountaineering like this. I get the thrill of mountain expeditions but it really doesnt have to be the highest peak all the time. And if you truly aspire to go for something like this, at LEAST know where the fuck youre going and what youre getting yourself into. You guys didnt acclimatize, didnt properly combat dehydration, checked neither the rules of the mountain nor the sleeping oppurtunities nor with any guide wether or not youre cut out for this, ridiculous amounts of baggage, essentially no glacier or mountain experience from almost all group members and not even apparently the need to start your tours early enough, for gods sake, you arrived at your first camp during NIGHT. This entire film is a step by step guide on precicely what not to do when attempting a similarely challenging summit. Dont take this the wrong way, this was a stunning documentary, but never EVER do something like this again. Countless people have died already by being slighly less fortunate than you on trips like these and it seems more and more idiots each year are trying to accomplish something in their lives just because it would be cool or whatever. This was frusttrating to watch honestly.

Any aspiring mountaineers who watch this video, please do not use this video as inspiration. People like this are exactly the reason why so many people have to be rescued off of Mont Blanc. There is nothing amazing about doing such a climb without preparation. The beautiful thing about mountaineering is putting a lot of effort into such a project and it paying off with a summit (or not).

"The only thing that count, is that we made it." Very poor lesson in my opinion. Well you are not the only one approaching the mountain that way, but anyway, there is much more in your random trip than just touching a summit. For a start, the fact you broke the law should also count, as a lesson for a next summit attempt for example; or more obviously, it should make you think about it: why is it not authorized to put a tent there? The answer is obvious and it's pretty bad that you don't give it a second thought. On the project itself, well, you want to practice alpinism randomly, fine. But please, do not share that kind of experience. Do not encourage people to do it. If you care about people, you should delete this video, or redo it with a more appropriated message and some disclaimers.

And besidesthe fearlessness the only positive thing about that movie - unfortunately. Maybe one time in your live you will be able to seriously reflect what you have been through during that Trip. And Promoting something that is illegal is a Bad thing to do. Why? Because There are good reasons why Camping is not allowed in such places - especially for unexperienced people. This is a horrible video to take in as inspiration for mountaineering. PLEASE do not attempt this if this is all you got from this video. These people were incredibly reckless and survived out of sheer dumb luck. Dont take this stuff lightly, mountain rescue on Mont Blanc warns people like them EVERY YEAR that they have to properly prepare, be plenty experienced and inform themselves and yet every year more people add to the staggering death toll because they thought some "life experience" was worth their actual lives.

I agree in some way. M. Blanc belongs to the higher level of Mountaineering, 'cos the high altitude, weather conditions and a lot of other stuff. But in a documet says, I think the leading guy already climb the M. Blanc once before, and probably some other mountains in Alps so I guess he knew what it takes, how to prepare and so. The question is, what experiences have those young people and how they were prepared. Also that place is pretty busy with people I guess , so it can be helpfull in a case of some serious problem. But I never climb M.Blanc so it's hard for me to have a objective opinion. Only I know M.Blanc is a serious mountain but not hard to climg when you are skilled and experienced. But maybe I'm wrong.

Tolles Video was für Bilder

Was ist denn daran bitte so schlimm?
