My name is Chrome i have been living in y cargo van for 6 years now. I started this lifestyle BROKE and IN DEBT and after 11 months of living the van life i cleared my debt and started to put my life back together and build for a better future. I have turned my original van into a badass camper van that is lifted with all the toys. Over the years i went from being broke and stealth camping in the city and sleeping at walmarts... to now, living fulltime in a jacked up van and driving deep off-grid into the backcountry and living life in the dirt. WOW LIFE HAS CHANGED.
I now have a shop space to keep me busy through the winters here on Canada's westcoast. Went from Van Life to VAN LIFE + SHOP LIFE !!!!!! Come join this crazy van life journey of mine. HIT SUBSCRIBE, trust me its gonna be a WILD RIDE.

Just a thought. You may be further ahead to find another guy to re-coat the walls with mud to smooth out the roughness. It’s easier to sand the mudded wall than the painted wall. Also way faster. Then you can easily hide the previous mess. This is what most drywall finishers would recommend. I was married to one for thirty years. Hope you see this before you go any further.

I get what you're saying. But Chrome is probably like me. Leaving it f'd up would grind on me every single time I walked in that room like hundreds of glass shards in the eye. No, it's not a healthy frame of mind. But the reality of what it would do to me, and likely Chrome, day after day, year after year would take a far greater toll than the effort to fix it.

What I have done is buy a $85 hooper gun from Home Depot and an air compressor and texture the walls with knock down, looks great, covers mistakes, and cheap to do … you’ll need maybe a 5 gallon bucket of drywall mud… thin it down and spray, let it dry a little then knock it down… and it looks great.

This is why the pros use a primer designed for new work -- it dries quickly to seal the surface without the roller munging up the texture. Then they paint with flat paint = no sheen -- much more forgiving of imperfect surfaces. But Chrome is not known for reading his comments -- can't say that I blame him -- but he's unlikely to ever see this. Keep reminding yourself it's a warehouse; not a piano. :)

I believe we already know how much you like that creative perfection ; and for me and everyone whom you share with ( and probably going to work with) know and love you for who You are. A few dinky things that no on will care about when busy in that shop is not worth the aggravation. Your decorations and decore will be the attraction, as always. Chrome, i began in the building business since 1977, i have never liked a smooth wall finish in as much as one small ding or a liece of furniture bumps tbe wall & ugh. .. smooth walls are only needed if wall paper is wanted. Thus a splatter spray with a knock down is best, as it is easy to touch up & repair. Just like your van with the texture finish helps keep the marks on finish from destroying your vehicle finish. Dont sand down as it effects the drywall paper ..

Be patient, turtle time...The spraying will be fun, Tape Well. Paper Floors, Windows before you paint, then you can choose your floor finish. You got this, but it requires a lot of patience with it all. Perfection is the goal, but don't let it ruin your work. It will be magical!
