Damgit Chrome, you made me cry! And. I hate crying hehehe it's barely 5 am here and tbh yesterday was a depressing day for me and I don't get down often and it never lasts long but I had just taken my 2nd trip in my temp build van and it didn't go so well because of my 2 cats. I love them but I don't think either of them will accept the lifestyle and I felt like a bad parent I guess. It took me 5 years to get here and I only have 6 weeks left on my lease before moving into my van. I've spent the last 2 years collecting van life stuff little by little and planning it out. Last year I decided I wasn't waiting for another lease term to do it. so, I left my campsite early yesterday morning and headed home with 2 screaming cats. I knew trying to help them adjust was costing me money because of all the different things I've tried, like a screened in tent. And, it has stressed me out and not truly allowed me to enjoy camping because of my worry for them. So, on my way back home I knew I was going to have to try to find them a home so we were both settled. Sad for me, very sad. It made me think I can't do this, My temp build is also driving me crazy because I have basically zero place to put anything because I plan to do a build but I have zero people to help and some things you need another pair of hands like getting a huge cargo box on top lol so it made me think I should just renew my lease. Smh, so not what I want for myself. Getting rid of rent is going to be the only way I can get out and enjoy my life. All I have done is work my ass off to survive life. Money has always hindered my actions. I hate money tbh but it's necessary to survive to some extent. Anyway, when I do dream I dream big. I wanted to be a park ranger and eventually own my own campground so I went to college but couldn't finish and now have nothing to show for it but 56 credits no degree. Long story short, I couldn't finish because of a defaulted private loan I had no idea I even received so I didn't qualify for aid and never would. I'm now 53 and work for myself cleaning homes which has allowed me more freedom and more money so here I am today. I want a nice farm type place out in Arizona catered to van lifers. They come help out around the farm and they can pick their own produce, ride and groom a horse, charge their stuff at a charging station, etc. a paradise for van lifers in the desert. Land is so cheap out there I might be able to pull it off if I save enough to buy some. It's doable right?! My mind says it is absolutely doable, but my heart says, something will stop you, something always stops you and it's usually money......then here comes your video of your past self.....damgit, you made me cry! Shame on you hehe My sister said she could take one of my cats, so I'm.gpimg to try again with just one and see how it goes. As far as the big dream of a place for all van lifers to come and relax and grow....well we shall see what the future holds for my van life which begins in 6 weeks so to be continued.......happy trails!

Thank you, thank you Chrome for taking me back to this wonderful video. It sparked something deep within me then, now today more so than ever. I am more positive than ever that this is the right time for me to start my journey into van life once and for all. I love to travel the road and look forward to off road adventures too. You just pushed me in that right direction. After the loss of my young son and the love of my life I now realize that I have to do this for me. I can no longer stand still I just want to move and explore the country that I love so much and feel that precious freedom that van life brings you. I was 15 year old when I traveled across country with my big brother and his little family, then again years later with my young son in a motor home, that excitement on his fourteen and half year old face said it all, that was me years earlier. Sleeping in our car was the most wonderful experience and nothing has come close to those precious times. You have been my inspiration, today is the push in the right direction I needed, thank you.
