This is why I love this channel. Whenever fans and the media talk about MJ, its all about the dunks, game-winners and championship but it's never about how smart, skilled and fundamentally sound MJ was.

This is my new video to show people if they contest MJs GOAT tag. He does everything so well, you can't stop him. 1v1 impossible to stop as he's too smart, he will watch your read and pull out something else. Even 2v1 he can do the same and with finishing. Or hit an open man. Great video.

Kareem is the only one. You gotta understand the "Sky Hook" was the most unstoppable move of all-time. It was the most skilled move becuase NOBODY else even tried to do it. Why? Only he could and it got him to six rings like MJ but more MVP's(6 to 5) and Kareem faced more comp. He played against or with the likes of Oscar, West, Wilt, Dr.J, Pistol Pete and Bird, Magic, MJ and Hakeem. For 3 decades he average 25 points, 11 boards and over 2.5 blocks and shot 56% from the field and man records he set weren't registered because the NBA didn't keep certain stats or had awards back in the 70's and earlier like Defensive Player of the Year or blocks. I'm 35 and from the Westside of Chicago so MJ is my GOAT but is he undisputed? NO!

Chilanta magic Johnson sky-hook was pretty awesome too. And I agree with you to an extent.. Personally I think the #1 most deadly move is a tie between Jordan's post up fade away.. And the sky-hook. I'm getting old, and the generation that came right after mine is like blown away by Kobe's post moves and fade away, failing to realize Kobe learned all that by watching Jordan, and not only that but Jordan did it so much better. That's why I think his signature move is arguably the deadliest ever.

No wasted movement. That was key. That's why he didn't need unnecessary displays of ball handling gimmicks. Someone once said that it was easy to guard MJ because he make quick moves. So he'd kill you quickly so you didn't get too tired "defending him". One other thing MJ used to do was that when he saw a double coming, he would move in the direction of where the double was coming. Sounds counterintuitive but really smart. The double wouldn't be able to recover and he would create a "screen" and block off the primary defender. Killing two birds with one stone.

I said this exact thing to someone telling me Iverson was better at ball handling. Better or worse I don't know, but Iverson size's made it more difficult for him to bypass a good defense and that's why he had to do all those fakes and gimmicks, in which he was so good at, but often involved a lot more movement. Jordan was an entirely different case, being so quick, effective and not wasting any movements, he often just needed one move or fake to bypass whoever was defending him.

Damn, that’s actually true. That infamous dunk on Ewing actually started that way. As he drives in from the side, there’s the double team, and indeed he steps back. Gave him just enough distance to just pirouette around the double team and right into the dunk.

True despite not being a high percentage 3 point shooter or even shot that many 3s in his career, his midrange game was so effing good, he was nearly unstoppaBULL. His fundamentals were so on point he was a nightmare to handle on the offense and defensive side of things. A real two way player.

I remember MJ as a freshman in college and to this day it's the same reaction, he's the greatest, most athletic and aesthetic, and the only perfect athlete I have ever seen. He was the only one who mastered the game. The ultimate skill, will, athleticism, giant hands, hangtime, coordination, mental game, finesse, instincts, creativity and blessed with the perfect aesthetic physique/proportions for basketball in one package. It will never happen again. No one has ever come close and no one ever will.

Kenny smith always said that being fundamentally sound and very athletic made MJ special and GOAT. He is the most athletic and best technical basketball player at the same time. It's like combining duncan and carter in one marriage

What made jordan the goat along with his mindset is he never overcomplicated things. Unlike many kids today who dribble as much as possible jordan would uses as few dribbles as he could. He didnt have any flashy dribble moves, if he didn't beat you with his non dribbling moves he would use simple crossovers. This is and his mindset make him the goat

He was such an effective and efficient scorer that his team was usually better off him taking the shot, which is rare; you don't see many scoring champs win titles, and he was for all his 6

The shimmy fake is not faking with shoulder and head only. Pay attention to both his knees. His lower body usually changed position to the counter direction, too. When another player tries to double team, he actually tried to find the closest open space available on the court. Many times, MJ just moved towards the helper before he arrives. It all depends on if there is any other defender nearby and how difficult for defenders to recover and help. His technique is second to none. I always found something new when watching them over and over again and after trying to apply some of the principles to my play. When you try it yourself, even just in practice, there is always something more detailed emerged. And my respect for him keeps going up every time.

One thing i never understood was how Kobe could be smart enough to take all the incredible fundamentals of MJ's game but not use the glass nearly as much. It's most likely the single reason his career FG% isn't as good. Jordan's use of English was simple and everything

His defense wouldn't work now-a-days, most of his defense involved illegal hand checking. Plus, look at how great his defense did against new dynamic ball handlers like Allen Iverson, all respect to Michael, but Allen Iverson crossed him the fuck up with a simple crossover. You're better off studying the true goat, Kobe's defense.

Sterlin Jordan Watered down poor man version of Jordan? Explain to me how this Watered down version of Jordan scored 81 pts in on game, scored more points than Jordan in his whole career and has a better percentage than Jordan at the three? Kobe is a better defender than MJ. MJ needs to handcheck in order to contain his man, his defense was already exposed when the hand checking rule came about and he had to defend next level ball handlers like Allen Iverson. Imagine what Kyrie or Stephen would do to MJ, that's a tragedy.

MJ also has top ability to rotate his body around the axis he picked. The dream has something similar. This made their spin-moves cover more distance to create more space. I actually think their techniques are very similar. Jordan's games from his last comeback are what makes him GOAT for me.
