This is absolutely the best video for making post earrings out there. Balling the end of the wire and using the round nose pliers to put the dent in the finished earring are just genius. Thank you, Sir, for upping my game.

Thank you for sharing this video. I have been avoiding ear posts, but knew I couldn't forever. The last time I tried them did not go well. You have so many good tips and present the information in your videos so well. I always feel like you have given plenty of information so that I can try any of the techniques on my own. I see below that someone asked for a video on texturing with a hammer. That would be great. I have a lot to learn and your videos are so helpful.

Thanks again, Andrew, for another awesome video. Question: Do you make your own "butterfly" backs, or do you purchase them? (Are stainless steel butterfly backs the usual on silver earrings, because I couldn't find the silver ones in any online store in the USA, only stainless steel.) If you DO make your own, maybe you could make a video on how to do that.

@Andrew Berry I couldn't remember how to make the indentation near the end of the post so this was very helpful, thanks! 👍 Btw, what brand is your butane torch? I saw this a few years ago and now that I'm making post earrings (as opposed to french wire dangles) I needed to refresh my memory. Thanks for leaving many of your tutorials open to the public. They're an invaluable tool that gave me confidence to make bench jewelry. Cheers! 😊

For years I've been missing my other star-shaped rainbow gem earring, I thought I would never see it again. I couldn't bear to get rid of this earring. But I just found the missing earring at the bottom of a box that's been in storage for 10 years! The post is broken off, so I found your video in hopes that I can fix it. 😁🤩❤

Thank you so much for this, Andrew. Just wondering if this would be possible if, say, I was to repair the broken off back post of an earring with settings in it by attaching a new back post? What could I do to ensure the settings are protected while I solder a back post on? Thanks for all the videos and just how informative you make them.
