Attributes Are More Important Than Tactics

Your tactics aren't quite as important as you think. Your success - or failure - is likely closer related to the attributes of your players than to the tactical system you use.

Footedness is super important too It will affect passing lanes and on ball movement

both come second to squad dynamics/player happiness. i hate that the game is reduced to being a daycare sim

I'll never forget the time that Pele, Maradona, and Christian Ronaldo stopped scoring because a second string player I wanted to sell wasn't getting enough playing time.

how come a 1 star player with bad hidden matches gets 7+ rating every game but my 4,5 star player cant hit 7 rating? he even has better hidden stats

Not sure but perhaps physicals aren't affected by hidden stats. Does your 1 star have better physicals?

@@peterhoffmann6343 what about the roles? Certain positions rarely go above 7 rating. Like a DLP or goalkeeper

I don't really understand the premise of your claim. If you simulate the same tactic twice, with the only change in one of the being that you boost meta attributes by +2 of course that will do better than the other. It would have been really interesting to see if you tested the same formation with default tactics vs the highly rated tactics and the same players, and then the default tactic with players with boosted meta attributes vs highly rated tactics (assuming that the better tactic won against the default). I'd still expect the better players to win. Tactics aren't that important in my experience when you get to the level where you have superior players, but they matter a lot when you have worse of similar level of players.

In a ways attributes matter more yes but that would be in combination of playing the players in the role that their core best attributes will allow them to perform in. If you're playing with a poacher and then swap him with a player who has better attributes but is a deep lying forward and has the traits of a deep lying forward but continue to play him as a poacher in your system he isn't going to perform as well as the other guy in the engine (if the original poacher has the few attributes you need to play a poacher well.) Ultimately if your point is that players with better attributes perform better, then yeah you're right. Frankly you need a medal for discovering this! lol

There's more to the story than just that, however. One thing we've discovered is that pace and acceleration matters for ALL players - other than keepers, that is. Even if the game tells you that pace and acceleration aren't important (for example, for a defensive midfielder), it doesn't matter. Those two attributes are far more important than any other attributes in the game. Watch closely and pay attention to the attributes that were NOT improved in the study, and you'll see what I mean. Some attributes that people think are important actually mean very little.
