ATVing Mackay Idaho - an ATV centered Town

Steven is up North in Mackay Idaho. If you love to explore on motorized vehicles, this is the place for you. Most trails start from right down town and everything you need to have a great trip is available. You can atv on the streets. A half hour to the south, there is craters of the moon lava field. Back in town, there is hiking and fishing and RV stations.
Directions to Mackay ID:
Head West out of Idaho Falls on Highway 20 for about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you get to the town of Arco, hwy 20 turns into hwy 93 (its the same road). About a half hour out of Arco you arrive.

My grandparents lived there, Used to visit every year until I joined the military. My dad went to Mackay High. Love that town.

Mackay is an amazing town! The people seemed great, the riding is phenomenal, and the geography is amazing!

I grew up going to Mackay every summer for 2 or 3 weeks. Only a town of about 500 people back then and the town had some rough times for a while but it's great to see it come back. I"m returning to Mackay in a couple of weeks and I am looking forward to seeing my uncle's old house and finding our old fishing hole on kids creek. BTW - I find it odd that as an ATV centered town there are no places to rent an ATV. I had to go all the way to Challis.

Oddly, they have very little to offer ATVers, except the trails, and lodging options. Was there for a week in 2017, and fell in love with the town, and wanted to move there, and open a shop for off-road/snowmobile supplies. Still dreaming that dream1

Depending on what you think about the locals...lol I have a feeling that it doesn't always work for dirt bikes these days....Go to Stanley and goooo!

What is the one reason you are advertising Our State? We have our own rapidly growing population and I don't know if you are affected by the huge economic increases, but I have been! How about the information on the Craters of the Moon ntl park?
