ABOUT CHICAGO PD
From multiple Emmy Award-winning executive producer Dick Wolf, "Chicago P.D." is a riveting police drama about the men and women of the Chicago Police Department's elite Intelligence Unit, combatting the city's most heinous offenses - organized crime, drug trafficking, high-profile murders and beyond. Handpicked as the head of the unit, Det. Sgt. Hank Voight (Jason Beghe) has assembled a team of diverse detectives who share his passion and commitment to keeping the city safe. They include Jay Halstead (Jesse Lee Soffer), Officer Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati), Officer Adam Ruzek (Patrick John Flueger), Officer Kevin Atwater (LaRoyce Hawkins) and Det. Hailey Upton (Tracy Spiridakos), the newest member of the team with killer instincts, humor and smarts. Desk Sgt. Trudy Platt (Amy Morton) runs a tight precinct with tough love, although she lets her softer side shine through from time to time.
Chicago PD is available now on Peacock, the new streaming service from NBCUniversal. Watch thousands of hours of hit movies and shows, plus daily news, sports, and pop culture updates. Stream now on Peacock.

Both of them are in very difficult positions. This argument surfaced from both of them being stuck, in a way. Hank is afraid to change what he's always done with perps, wants to get justice for the families. Kevin is affected as a black man and a cop at the same time. He understands Hank's tactics. He gets that. He just wants to go about it differently, because of all the scrutiny the cops are facing right now, and the fact he was being set up by his own brothers in blue from other districts. I think they needed to both come clean and get stuff off their chests during this stressful time.

Look...im African American. The mindset the writer's gave Atwater's character is he has had enough with police brutality. However, as any fan of the show can attest to. For Voights career he only uses the cage on criminals and he only uses the cage when necessary. So i am irritated with Atwater being so wrapped up in his own personal anguish that he let that cloud the type of man Hank is and his methods. I am not happy with Atwater right now.

I am sorry but I have to disagree. I don't know what the solution to this problem is, but violence is not. Every racist police officer think they are doing the right thing; whereby they think that they are saving society, when they use "their methods", whether its police brutality or profiling, that doesn't make it right. What if Hank is wrong, and he breaks limbs to the point that the person's livelihood is ruined, or worse he kills someone? AGAIN, I am not saying I know what the solution to the problem is, BECAUSE I SERIOUSLY DONT. But as much as I respect Hank and his morals, I agree with Atwater here, where you cannot just let police do whatever they deem is right or necessary. And I think it is right of Atwater to question Hank here. Hank may be right most times, but many police men aren't. And we cannot treat Hank one way (ie. encouraging violence), because we have better insight into his morals, and treat all other police men/women another way (ie. hate their violence and brutality). THIS IS MY OPINION!
@RaymondStarkes
@RaymondStarkes 3 жыл бұрын
@@ashabay8450 You lost me at the beginning with racist cop. I am not speaking qbout any other police officer or detective. I'm speaking about Hank Voight. We have not only seen his methods but we also understand his psyche behind the reasons and circumstances for use of said methods. He doesn't use the cage on just any suspect. He doesnt use it on offenders who have any innocence about them. He has used it on criminals who stay in the system and also criminals who are part of a really heinous crime. So to answer your question. "What if Hank is wrong". I dont have sympathy for a suspect who has a history of battery against others, pedophilia, drug runners or bosses, etc. If Hank was wrong in his interrogation. Then hopefully his method in that moment scared the suspect in the cage into making healthier choices. Atwater knows this. He might not disagree with Hank. But its not about questioning Hank. Because everyone in that unit knows Hanks reasoning. Atwater knows Hank would never use the cage on the innocent. Atwater was so wrapped up in his personal life and who he was being treated, he lost sight of that. I understand why, but he should have known the difference based on their relationship.

You can’t have it both ways. Hank does this because he’s a part of the old guard who would find this acceptable. Problem is that same old guard is coming after Atwater because they find it acceptable. Just because the old way was tolerated doesn’t mean it’s right because the younger generation knows change needs to happen and are willing to speak up for chance. And if you don’t think Hank understands that change needs to happen then why did he change his mind on going after the suspect after the fact?

I am not woke enough to be done with Voight putting people in that cage. I'm sorry but I am not with the crowd who thinks people who commit heinous crimes should be given lollipop and cotton candy. I am for the cage!! My dear sweet friend was kidnapped, raped, murdered and partially burnt, so I have difficulty finding compassion for deviant cowards.

100%... Doyle was in the wrong confronting that dude on the street when he had no probable cause. The kid was carrying Nike Air Jordans, not drugs. I'm glad Atwater took the stand he did and stood by his original statement at the beginning of the episode this clip is from.

I think Sarge was hurt Kevin didn't come to him. Because Hank said get the hell out to jay last season. So I dont worry about that, but chase almost down the stairs. Also I'm Adam in 1:56 it sort of felt like family squabble and his the middle of it. Also u don't play by rules lost your evidence..then you want take murderer in a cage in the spotlight.
