At the end of February, we visited Auberge Yusura in Futami-machi, Ise City, Mie Prefecture, Japan.
This auberge is a small inn with only five rooms, each of which is an independent one-building suite, which makes for a quiet, relaxing, and tranquil stay.
We value "a little bit of extra hospitality" that only a small inn can provide.
The "Keyaki" room we stayed in this time was newly extended in 2022, It is the largest and most beautiful room in the Auberge Yusura with an area of 80 square meters, and has an open-air hot spring, terrace, and garden.
The open-air guest room hot spring bath uses hot water from Sakakibara Onsen, a famous hot spring known since the Heian period (794-1192), which is known for its various physical benefits as well as for its skin care properties.
The meals were as good as the auberge name implies, and we enjoyed elaborate, delicate, elegant, and delicious cuisine using the finest ingredients from the local Mie area.
We could feel the warmth and hospitality of the staff all the time.
The tourist spot, Meoto-iwa, is about 2 km away, and Ise Jingu Shrine is a few dozen minutes away by car, so we were able to enjoy a wonderful stay at the inn, visit the Meoto-iwa and Ise Jingu Shrine, and sight-seeing at Okage Yokocho all in one night, two days.
