It’s stunning! The detailing of the finishing is spectacular and the radiance of the silvery white dial is mesmerizing. I think I’d go a size down but the Royal Oak can’t is beyond compare in sports watches I my mind. I’d thought it was played out but no....

I managed a Long Island country club (GO in OW) back in the ‘80s so it always reminded me of the older guys who wore them then but having revisited them again in person they’re something to behold. They have a soft glow to them in person. A radiance that comes from the finishing. It’s timeless yet tells the time.

Wondering if Watchbox offers online appraisals for insurance purposes? I have this same 15400 and it's currently insured for about half of its current value so I need to find a place that will send me documentation of what it's worth on today's market.

Nice dated watch. I think the best steel sport watch now is SeaQ Panorama Date. The movement is just on another level than RO; with a date better than A Lange. And the best clasp in business. I guess RO (and ROO) are for the followers of trends, and SeaQ for those who care more about quality.

I'm a huge fan of GO and am in love with the pano series, but the SeaQ is the ugliest dive watch available. Quality means nothing if you don't actually lust after the design itself. The proportions and design elements of the RO are perfect (to me anyway).. If it had never existed and was just released this year by Oris I'd desire it just as much

@@sidewinderxx The RO movement are to small for the case, the date looks the same as on a 200 USD watch, and the accuracy also match a much cheaper watch. But if AP removed the date on RO (or made a nice one) and had a high end movement thats fit the case, the watch would be nice. Not 30K nice, thou.

@@sidewinderxx SeaQ Panorama Date looks great in real life on a big wrist, in my opinion ;) I understand people have different taste; at least the watch is on another quality level than RO.

@@Roy-vh9rp true looks are subjective, and the RO movement is too small I agree. It's the design on the dial, case and bracelet that do it for me in a way that GO doesn't. I so wanted the SeaQ to be amazing because I'd get it straight up, GO gives you so much more watch for the money

@@DrExeCelticHeroes More so with the 15400, the rato of the dial size to the thickness of the bezel doesn't please my eyes. The 15500 brilliantly makes the dial play visually smaller compared to the 15400 by adding a sloped rehaut and shorter markers.

Good luck walking into a store and buying one at the retail price of $21,800... economics of supply and demand... and I am pretty sure that the after market prices will keep rising.

@@bk1109 considering this watch is 8 years old. If I have my name down on a waiting list, I'll likely get a brand new one in less than 8 years. Also, no guarantee this watch will still be hot next year.

@@sidewinderxx No. I'm just not dum enough to pay for something way over retail. I'd rather wait. 5 years ago, this watch was likely worth 15k. Who knows what the value will be in 5 years from now.

@@s.j.c.5821 fair enough. I have my name down for one and have been waiting for 2 years now. I also will not pay over retail for this watch either because for me it’s a lot of money. But all relative I think. To some, even the marked up prices are pocket change and not an issue. As an example, whilst I would rather wait for years to pay retail for an AP or a Patek, I have no issues paying the marked up price for a Rolex Submariner as it is still in my affordable range. And with the AP RO, I think it will keep getting hotter and hotter because of its history and significance in the watch world, and we seem to be getting more watch collectors with the increased awareness through social media... each to their own I say, like everything else in life! 😊
