Audeze is a great company. I have the Penrose and I think they are fantastic. When these eventually break or die I'll probably buy the Maxwell. Great review!!

does your pair produce unwanted noise when moving the head around or when chewing on food? i just got my replacement pair and it makes the exact same noise :(

@@cyberstonks what do you mean by unwanted noise? Also it may not hurt to order a different earpads from wicked cushions. That could help your situation!

How does these compare to the Penrose ? My penrose has broken for the 3rd time. Now Audeze is replacing them with the Maxwell

I hear they're not good for fps though or directional imaging? The sound, mic, and bass is superb as well as having the eq app on your phone.

So I can tell you I use them a lot for competitive FPS play including Halo, Apex, COD, etc... and they've been great. I'm not sure why that would be different in other cases.

Thanks Ains for this. Been thinking about getting these but I'm concerned about the heat. How hot do you think they get when you are wearing them for a session. Did the aftermarket cups help? I'm also concerned about constantly plugging in and unplugging the dongle from PS5 to PC. I used to run audio from the PS4 thru my PC but I guess if I do that with the PS5, I'll lose the Tempest audio. Thanks again

Hey there! So they do get warm after a while - either with the default leather pads or the Wicked Cushion replacements. I think that's simply the product of an over-the-ear headphone being one for hours. But by no means are they "uncomfortable" IMO. As for the dongle, yes you can use bluetooth instead if you prefer. But honestly it's super simple to move it too. Good luck!

Yeah they are highly sought after. Mine took a good several weeks to come in too. But worth it!

Did you find that changing the cushions changed the sound profile of your games? I tried the wicked cushions on my Penrose, and while they were comfortable the sound of the game became muffled. I tried to EQ the headphones through the app, but nothing seemed to do the trick so I sent them back. Great build quality, just couldn't get over the sound change.

I have that same issue with my a50 wicked cushions. Had to totally change my wq like crazy go accommodate. The wicked cushions though it was all most like they were made for the maxwells. I didn't notice a muddy or muffled sound like I did with the a50 ones.

Hello - not sure what you mean by sound delay in this case? As someone who games competitively I couldn't put up with any sound delay in delivery. I haven't noticed anything of the like.

Regarding the 24 bit 96 kilohertz setting. Do you notice a difference outside of the default 24 bit 48 kilohertz setting? I really didn’t and when I set it to 96 I experienced a tiny bit of sound popping in some cases.

s it normal that when I play and turn the volume to maximum...when there are explosions I hear something like a crack in my headphones? but only when I play and not when I listen to music

No definitely not. That sounds like a connection issue of some sort but hard to say remotely I'm afraid. Try reaching out to Audeze support?

I have pretty bad hearing from riding motorcycles without ear protection for a long time (like a big idiot). I have always wanted to hear what all the fuss is about with audiophile headphones. I just bought these. Waiting on shipment. I'm really hoping that I don't end up with buyer's remorse.

Several weeks - they go in and out of stock so you have to bear with them.

Both versions can be used natively on PC. It's either Xbox/PC or PS5/PC.

Hey there! When you say "use Aux" are you referring to plugging an aux/headphone cable directly into it? Or some other method?
