The bumper supports get removed and a bolt is used in one of the holes to allow you to slide the whole front end forward enough to not have to take all the stuff off you did.

I believe they call this the audi "service position"

I did this today. It took me 4 hours

To get the headlight out you need a 3/8 drive ratchet and extension to fit it in th hole with a t15 torque socket I've pulled one apart completely and need to know how to do the wiring on the fans

Mate you need to google, how to put A4 B7 into service position. Save you about 5 hours!

That was painful to watch him pulling pieces off the front, rather than undoing half a dozen bolts and sliding the whole nose out.

You really should add a big disclaimer note on this video and point out that all the work you did to remove the radiator was both unnecessary and not recommended. It would be a huge disservice if other people follow your procedure, rather than simply putting the front carrier into the service position. In plain terms - the entire nose of the A4 is designed to slide forward about 5" to provide easier access to the cooling system and the front of the engine, and it takes under 10 minutes.

What year is your A4? Also do you have the Quattro tranny or the CVT (FWD)? Asking because my car (which has the shitty CVT tranny) has been doing that jerking/jumping thing as well in between 1st/2nd gear (whatever you want to call it) for past 18 months or so. I flushed the fluid and that helped a little but it is back again. Just today though, it’s now overheating and the AC isn’t working right so curious if we are experiencing the same issue. Any information will be helpful. TIA!

Simple test - with the engine running, turn on the AC. The cooling fans should immediately come on. If the car overheats when sitting at a stop for a few minutes, and the fan doesn't come on when the AC is on, then the Fan Control Module is the most likely culprit. It's a box that sits at the top-right corner of the fans (driver's side), and replacement is under an hour.

The CVT needs a fluid change and adaption, I had the same issue and now the trans is smooth
@frankless46723 жыл бұрын
So since the transmission is expensive it can be messed up? 🤔
@scgarage41213 жыл бұрын
yeah dont break the trans...lots of money for the cvt repair
