Here is a quick video about how to change the grill on an Audi A4/S4 to the RS4 style honeycomb grill. My phone ran out of juice when I took the grill out but the process is just the reverse. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Im so thankful for this video. I work at a dealership and we just got an audi a4. Same model and year with a honeycomb grill. I may just bumper swap it. Looks a little more complicated to do in a wash bay lol.

Do we need to recalibrate parking sensor’sAfter installation?. Mine is base model a4 so it don’t have Driver assistance and front camera. It do have the parking sensor only. Thnx

@@Sunny-mc5fe Hello, I don't believe so. I didn't have to, but they beep a lot more than they did before - not sure why - even when nothing is ahead of them sometimes!

I've been pondering an S4 for my next car, this would be must do mod for me. Have you considered adding of the ECS styling mods? I've always thought the front splitter adds to the S4 look.

Hi Phil, great choice. I have thought about it but I’ve heard a few instances of poor quality from ECS, can’t say from experience though. Maxton is another route to go.

The badge had a couple of bolts which attached with some kind of butterfly nut to hold it in place.

I just covered the surrounding areas to prevent overspray and used a black automotive spray paint. I forgot to lacquer it but next time I take the bumper off I’ll repaint and lacquer.

Hey. JAYP Been looking for a vid like this for ages as was concerned about finding a grill that accomodated the crash bar polyestrine, as 99% of the videos show US models removing the polystrine. But the UK models obvs have sensors in them so you cant remove. would it be possible to know where you ordered the grill from ? thanks in advance! really great vid

Hey Elliott, thanks for the comment! Yes that’s right I didn’t have to remove that. I ordered mine on eBay from a seller called RequisiteUK - fit really well. Cost £179.99. Hope this helps 😃

Awesome video, can i ask a question? Did the parking sensors fit into the new housings ok on the new grill and did you have to hide/tuck/glue the wiring from them so they were not jist hanging loose behind the new grill, im going to fit my new grill in a few days time and cant wait

I think they fit ok. Pretty sure I didn’t have to glue anything, from what I remember there were clips for the wiring? It was a while ago so can’t be 100% sure!

Hey man! I’m trying to replace my chrome grill on my 2018 A4. When ordering the new blackout grill, do I have to order a special grill that has parking sensor, adapters or anything?

I can’t remember making sure it had spots for them. I imagine most would come with that in mind already. Always worth double checking pictures and description though.

Nice job! Did you get any airbag errors because of the crash bar sensor? I'm about to do the same to mine but been told to unplug the battery

Hello, I haven’t had any errors because of any of that. I didn’t unplug my battery but I think unplugging is best practice when moving any electrics

I grill swapped my A5 with a honeycomb grill. Now the sensors get triggered everytime I break or go at an angle or stop at lights. Not sure why. Did you have this issue?

Hello, not had the issue due to the grill. However, it’s always worth cleaning the front of the parking sensors of dust or anything because this can cause them to play up. Mine was muddy and sensors were beeping at weird times - cleaned up and they were ok

Did you have any issues re-fitting the bumper, especially with the pointed bit at the bottom of the headlights?

From what I remember it was fairly pain free. Can’t remember any issues.

Hi Karl, I actually ordered this on eBay! The S4 badge was another eBay order, so you don’t have to have the S4 badge - it was just an add on

I did this a couple of years ago now so I can't find it. A quick search on eBay shows some for cheap though! From about £90!

It changes the look hugely! I reckon if you're good at this kind of thing you could do it in 2-3 hours easily.

There’s a few different places, eBay, German Car Accessories, Ultimate Customs UK - Some places give you a choice of the Quattro lettering, different grill and outer trim colours, so well worth researching 👍🏻

@@nickcampanella5386 B8 is from 2008-2012 and B8.5 (Facelift) is 2013-2015 as far as I'm aware. Then it is B9 from then onwards :)

About 3/4hours but that included recording and doing it in the pitch black with just phone torch towards the end 👍🏻

Indeed, glad you like it! It’s definitely more of a understated look when it had the original grill - people probably didn’t think it was as fast as it is!
