Audi A6 Allroad C5 - How to remove the center rear console

This video shows how to remove the rear console in case you dropped something really valuable underneath the hand brake or you're just obsessive compulsive like I am and want to give it a very thorough cleaning
What you will need:
8mm and 13mm sockets
flat thin plastic tools (to lift the wood veneer trim without scarring it)
thin hands to reach under the console and unhook various cables

Is it absolutely necessary to remove the handbrake handle? On my C5 A6 there's a small cover on the LH side of the handbrake handle, under which there's a small allen key screw/bolt ... must this be removed or does it simply hold the bracket into which the trim clips?

So if the armrest is loose side to side is it that the whole center console is actually not fully secure to the floor? Or are there other bolts to just tighten that section?

You have to check the fuse for the cigarette lighter and if you changed that fuse and it still doesn't work. give it a proper cleaning with a small thin rag and some acetone. But make sure your car is turned off so you won't short the fuse out again.
