The problem is that all modern fast cars seem tame, even though they have more power than you can imagine and the speed is obscene but it's all so sanitised, you don't need to "earn" the speed, it's just always there for you and forgives almost any mistakes you make. I get bored with them faster than I do with a car you need to learn and grow with. Maybe it's just me getting older?

These super wagons are certainly extremely capable but the essence of a fast Q wagon has got so distorted over time they’ve now become a caricature of what they once were. These should be subtle, not shouty, passing under the radar and just blending in with all the cars around them with maybe some tasteful but subtle body mods, yet capable of tearing past anything this side of a supercar. Take a look at the original RS6 to see what I mean, or the RS2 - the car that started all this for Audi. Or even further back, a W124 560TE AMG wagon. The rear end of this C8 is so over styled. At £100K for a new superwagon I’d be choosing an Alpina B5 Touring which is a true 200mph superwagon, but can be specced really clean without all the stripes and badges. I’m an Audi owner - I bought a C7 S6 Avant new but it won’t be replaced with one of the new models.

how can u not like the looks of the RS6 🤔 it`s the best looking car in the "power-sedan/stationwagon" segment, atleast in my opinion.

So if you wouldn’t go for this what would you get if you needed fast estate? E63amg ? Panamera tourismo?
@invisiblekid994 жыл бұрын
For me yeah either of those. I mean the Panamera started off as a joke. But it's a really good car now that looks good. I'd choose it over this......not that I ever be in that position

invisiblekid99 Nor me, I’d be happy with a 330d touring with a few miles on it!

I feel the previous generation of audis had so much charm they were just something else that felt more than just an overpriced vw but this is just daft looking, it feels like its just trying to appeal to a broader market. Its really lost its charm this time around

Yellow RS6 was clickbait. You're driving the same press car as everyone else. Still good review.

Got to stand out! I actually drove two different RS6s in the week - a Nardo Grey fully loaded one too

JayEmm on Cars thanks for replying. Really appreciated. I subscribed. Keep up the good work. This is a goals car. Totally agree about the screen for the temperature gauges. Hate it. Cheers from Canada.

Audi UK seems to like your honest reviews like we average viewers do. Otherwise, I can't explain why they get you in one car after another. Not even mentioning the stripping of legendary race cars (even in our technical endurance racing facebook group this video was a hit). I guess they even profit more from honest reviews like seen here comparing to people which just repeat the press release while driving. - Great Review again! The sound is nuts for a stock 2020 EU Car. Most modern engines sound way more tamed than that because of the stu** EU regulations.

Yep, Audi just like honest content from passionate petrolheads, they're great people to work with

@@JayEmmOnCars It so funny sometimes when you have worked in the business and see those little details sometimes. There is a new car and on each channel. they tell you the same technical details, the history behind the idea, what the goals are the car wants to achieve, how better this and that feels because it`s improved by x percent, how light the this and that is now because it lost 5 pounds. It`s kind of reading down the press release or mirroring the press presentations you have before lunchtime. One guy talks, videos, and graphics are shown - and that`s what you hear from 85% of the journalists later on. When I see that pattern its kind of boring and eye-rolling moment. So I am very pleased for more "unconventional" reviews.

Well as a current C7 owner I can't say I am unhappy with that verdict, it was roughly what I have been expecting for a long time, I note you didn't mention anything about it's mild/lite hybrid capabilities....or it's vibrating throttle....
@JayEmmOnCars4 жыл бұрын
There is mention of the hybrid system at the end I think. The vibrating throttle pedal was simply annoying.

@@JayEmmOnCars Sorry if I missed that bit, it is why I was very happy with the C7 this model will be sanitised by its smart electronics....I think.. but I will wait until I get my invite... :-)

E63S Wagon W213 pre or post facelift FTW. Significantly faster, better handling, sounds better , and MUCH better standard spec.

@ 15:30 he says, they just of put in a double clutch gearbox in the car, VAG has them in store from the new panamera and bentley.... i'll have to correct you, but the new panamera and bentley use the exact same ZF 8 Speed automatic gearbox as this 2020 RS6, and not a dct box. Since the zf box is more and more developed, it became as strong and (95%) nearly as fast as the equivalent DCT trans... Greetings, My fellow Carfreak 🤨😂

I'm pretty sure if I saw this coming up behind me from a distance I'd think it was a Ford, with those headlights and that grill - it'd only be apparent when it got close it was something else. Seems like a design fail to just copy a design from Ford that Ford copied from Aston Martin.
