So Sorry to hear that you lost your mum 😔 RS6 it just has the kudos and street cred' It has appeal from 9 to 90 years old. Something neither the M5 or E63 manages. Have to say the RS6 should be compared to M5 or E63. Then you can compare the M5 competition and E63s to the RS6 performance model when gets here later this year but probably early next due to Covid. For all the reasons you mentioned, I'd take the RS6 it really is the ultimate one car garage and the only car you'll ever need. Also it looks so much more interesting than the Beemer or the Merc. Go on tell us, you'd choose it too wouldn't you🤫 Its an RS6 Avant!

Practical Estates every time for me and so this RS6 with motorcycle class acceleration is a winner in my book. Top speed figures are irrelevant for UK road use.

I owned the first C7 before I had an unfortunate incident. I then had the C7 performance. I now have the C8 with full dynamic plus steel coil suspension and ceramic brakes. It’s less shouty than the Performance but the rumble of the V8 is incredible, the styling is beautiful and the handling...oh the handling. The rear wheel steering is incredible. This 2 ton mammoth DARTS through corners. I’m happy

Your comment about the mile munching reminded me of the thing I miss about the Audi A3's I have owned, getting to your destination fresh as a daisy! My old drive to work was 35 miles on mostly C class roads in North Yorkshire and my A3 did it brilliantly. I tried doing the same journey in my Clubman and it was just more work, more engaging but more work. I'm currently thinking of changing cars and this has reminded of one feature I miss of Audi ownership, and it's also not helping the decision!

Great video Mr Ped. I think it may come down to if you are an Audi or BMW fan boy. For me I am an Audi fan boy and drive an A6 so this RS is the ultimate family car.

For me dear boy, you hit the nail when you said, 'clinical' I get the feeling the 'grin factor' is too low to make it a viable option. Awesome numbers, but the lack of a jog wheel and too much reliance on the touch screen make it a no from me. (Not that I could afford one anyway, but hey I'm living my motoring dreams through your channel!!!)

I permanently drive in RS1 full dynamic and sports mode in manual. I’m not normal. I had the V10 M5 2006. I enjoy being alive, however, so Quattro is the angel on my shoulder.

I’m a proud owner of an 95 Audi RS2 and one thing i can tell you about living with one is, you need very deep pockets, they love eat all your hard earned wonger. God knows how much that beast will go through, mind you can’t imagine these lasting as long as my RS2 ..... not with all the electronics they rely on. 👌👌👌

All the modern driving aids are only needed because the presence of screens / absence of real buttons requires eyes off the road so much more than in previous decades. I suspect I'll never want to buy a car built after about 2019.

It looks great from the outside. Not a fan of the new multi screen layout inside though. I should really want one of these but, strangely I don't.

Prefer the old model with the retractable screen, buttons to prod and knobs to twiddle. Think had the better balance between performance/fun and engaging drive (just going on reviews as haven’t driven the new one yet). At around £45k I would rather take a 16 plate, a VW Campervan & an Abarth 595 as a runaround and still have money left over.

I've never driven something that outrageously powerful, but I sometimes get the same "clinical" feeling in my Golf R. It's just too easy to go way too quickly, as my recent whopper of a speeding ticket (I was passing/overtaking) will attest. This is why I've got an MX-5 on my list for a fun summer car somewhere down the line, with a manual of course. Sorry to hear about your Mum. Take care.

Firstly, Sorry for your loss - hope you are all ok. Re the cars, I've actually come out of an M5 comp... into an RS6... I think direct comparison, the M5 is quicker in a straightline - its angrier... even its gear changes are dramatic, in gearbox setting 3... The RS6 is much more practical to live with it, when you are not going for it, its comfortable, a better cruiser... but has lots of power, infinitely better built and designed... Steering is abit light for me, if im honest, my Old B9 RS4 had the best Audi steering ive tried... but as a total package as a daily driver, I think the RS6 is less of a compromise.

Given my love of estate cars I think I’d have the RS6 over the M5 (shame there isn’t an M5 Touring) as well as the E63 which is just too lairy and loud for everyday driving on UK roads imo.

My shotgun-rider hates sedan, M5 is out unquestionably. RS6 is the one for my family.

Tough loosing a parent, may your Mum Rest In Peace and condolences to you and your family. Perfect colour for the RS6 but it’s not the only colour way I’d consider, for me being a fan of the marquis it has to be the RS6 not to mention it’s easily one of the best looking cars (particularly of its type) to his the road in recent times but if someone threw a M5 comp at me I wouldn’t say no. I’m past do skids and drifts long ago so those options don’t really figure into it for me, I’d be more than happy with the Audi’s capability to maul a road in almost any circumstance and look dead sexy doing it. 👍🏻

Well I own an old c7 rs6 since new and went through all your deliberations on settings etc and after some considerable time realised Audi knows the car best, just leave it in auto on settings and everything is always available. As for fuel consumption it easily does low teens as well as 40 mpg on a freeway.../dual carriageway/ motorway, wherever you are from.. that's about 7.1 litres per hundred for the rest of you. I describe it as the swiss pocket knife of cars... as it does everything....and I won't sell it ever, the c8 for me just puts more electronics in a car and makes it that bit more sterile... so it's not for me...especially that vibrating throttle...seriously, not cool.. as for lag, in a big capacity v8 with twin turbos and mountains of torque, which is how you drive it daily, it just goes, you can easily overtake 7 cars in one move in a very short space of time... :-)

My dream, family car. I own an A4, and I love it. But this thing, is super cool.

Got to love a Cornish hedgerow. All that greenery hiding a dry stone wall in a lot of places. Not sure it is the stealth car it used to be (in your face is being kind) but a lot of available power in every condition. Probably have the M5 though.

Sounds like a power boat, I guess it's a bit like a road going yacht. Better looking than the M5. I wonder how many more V8 Audi cruise missiles we'll get before the ICE is gone. How will an electric RS6 sound? The ICE is definitely bowing out with a bang! Sorry for your loss BTW.

Love the RS modes on my RSQ3, so quick to get to the sports car side of it. I agree on motorways best leave it in auto or efficiency setting, then when you want to switch it up...it’s instantly there. Condolences to you for your loss ped, nothing worse than saying goodbye to your mum.

I loved this video and I know it's subjective, but looks matter and to me the Rs6 looks better than the M5 competition and the Audi design is just classier and more elegant yet sporty and menacing as well. Plus it's more practical and unique...I haven't driven either yet, but from the videos I've watched the Rs6 seems more enjoyable to drive as well. But if you combine the gorgeous design and the performance with the understated wolf in sheep's cloths design, the practicality, uniqueness, I would pick the Rs6 over the M5 competition..E63s would be my choice over the M5 competition as well...But I prefer the Rs6 to the E63s..Just looks better and from what I've heard drives better...Rs6, white Ferrari 488 Spyder, Huracan evo spyder, AMG g63, Rolls-Royce Phantom EWB are my favorite cars.

If you wanted a nice driving road you should have just come up the hill out of Meva and turned left at the top. Cracking piece of road. Plus if you go all the way and start coming down the hill into the other side of Meva the view is incredible!!

Makes a gorgeous, rich bass noise from inside. Camera picked that up a treat. Never quite hankered after a fast Audi, not enough to make a difference to buy one, but I respect the engineering. That said, I’ve seen an S5 for £28k and that V6 treble burble appeals too.

Well... I’m not a fan of hybrid technology , but if that’s what it can do in a monster of a car like that, then I best get saving up.. 😏

What happened to living and doing daily things tho haha, I am either getting this car or a G wagon, but the reason this car isn't on top of the list is because it's huge, I wanted to see daily things, driving round town, 30 miles an hour...parking the car up in a car park, going into a multi storey car park, things as such! Things people do daily!

May be you should have taken the fiat 500 that featured on vintage voltage around those very tight streets in Devon. i would have been bricking my self driving that car around those streets. but i loved the journey thanks

I think it's all about personal preference at price bracket Question when will manufactures call it a day in the production of cars like the RS6 there are plenty of them out there all under different manufactures

Averaging 24 mpg would be ok if it didn't have a 16 gallon tank, it should be 20 gallon at least to make it practical in my opinion

Great review and deepest condolences for your loss. The RS6 has always been my dream car, although the M5 comp runs a very close second. Unfortunately neither fit into the budget. So I have an RS5 for the daily slog and a Focus RS for the B road bashing ( in my opinion still one of the best B road bashers available) Only just discovered your channel, now a subscriber, nice to be able to follow someone who isn’t just out of nappies, can never quite take a car review from someone who’s only been driving for 10 years😂😂 look forward to more videos👍👍

Having owned both Audi and BMW, for me there is just something that i prefer about BMW But as you said they are both very solid well built cars that will happily cruise the miles away effortlessly and give you smiles when you want a little more " Fun " :) P.S.
