Hello there guys today i will show you guys how to add and remove you audi a4/a5 wing mirror cover, so you can put a new one on or add a new colour to it, i choose to put the matte chrome wing cover so it looks like the Audi S4 wing mirror.

Thx for the vid. I want to change mine so badly. Already got them chrome covers but judging from the part where you take the pane out, I'm sure as clumsy as I am, I would break the bloody thing. What is the plastic ABS tool you're using called?

easier to remove the plugs to the mirror save the mirror from scratching your door

Is it necessary to take those screws out? Cuz I don’t see any screws connect to cover

maybe it's just to help loosen that front frame to pull away from the housing? I see what you're saying though...

So I just did it and it's true you don't have to. I'm glad it worked too, cuz I texted the guy that sold them to me and mentioned I saw a few people point out the screws don't go into the housing and asked if it's true you don't have to take out the mirror, and he said "correct". Then after i did it he was like "all I had to do was take out the mirror glass, remove these screws..." lol! Thank god it still worked, cuz it was still kinda hard and I thought I was gonna crack or scratch something on the first one... Once I grabbed a slightly beefier trim tool it ended up being pretty easy though. I started from the outside corner where the edges meet and just worked my way inward on each edge then it's easy to pop off.

@@MrMishaBelov It depends on what you're looking for and what you want to spend. Like what finish (aluminium like the video, gloss black, CF), OEM vs aftermarket, used vs new, etc. New OEM you can get directly from Audi or places like TAG/Europrice (also some third party I think), but the price is up there. Ebay has a lot of sellers on the cheaper side, and I've heard a lot of it is just as good quality as some of the third party products from high price online resellers (often sourced from same place) if you find the right seller. Other than that you can look on forums. I got mine used from a guy who replaced his gloss black ones with CF on his RS5.

my 2018 a5 doesnt have screws from the factory on both sides, so technically it is possible to yank it out

I can not see why you have removed the mirror that appears to be completely separate to the mirror components.

You made a literally 2 min job into a 20 min hassle. 1. Mirror glass doesnt need to come out 2. You didnt need to remove the screws. Its literally using the pry tool along the top edge of the cover to loosen the cap off & to fit new one, locate the botton edge correctly & push in
