I had the pleasure and privilege of having a little run out in this around some wonderfully enticing Dales roads only a week or so ago, Having owned the D2 s8, I was interested to see both how they compared and how unique each was. On giving the keys back, the only word I could muster was "sublime!" The 5 pot burbles and sounds like something so special and a little retro. Handling defies its age and miles, It truly does feel like an almost new car. I've never seen an interior like it - and it has "that old Audi smell" to it too. Having spent many years around the a8 forums, you know a genuine car when you see and drive one. This is just a truly special car. If there are comparable cars out there - as an enthusiast - I would truly love to see and drive one. I think it speaks volumes when an enthusiast owner like Martyn is prepared to offer such a detailed walk-around and share an honest appraisal as he goes. As a car detailer myself, its condition speaks for itself without having been tarted and clarted up with shine enhancers which actually detract from the cars beauty and honesty. Audi values are rising rapidly at the moment. The s8's are now commanding £10k + for the truest examples. 3 years ago they were £3-4k. Will watch with interest to see where these UR S6's go...

What a proper lovely thing! Gorgeous original example of a rare and special Audi, and in the ultimate "Plus" spec too. A car from the golden age of understated perforance Audis. Literally a 20v ur-Quattro clothed in an unassuming 5-door estate car body. Must be so tough to have to let go of a unicorn of a car like this, but it's for a good cause. I have no doubt that there is a good home out there waiting.

Absolutely beautiful example, Martyn! I’m not surprised it’s a tough decision to make, such superb cars. I own a C4 A6 Avant myself and have been after the S6 for a very long time. If you do indeed decide to list it then all I can say is I’m very interested and would love to chat to you more about it! It’s lovely to see one of these preserved so well.

Seems like the wrong shift knob? And the climate control shouldn't have been just a S6+ thing. They even had it on the earlier 100 CS from like '91. But this car is in great shape. And don't worry about missing the airbox cover. Like 99% of them are missing it. You bought it just to sell it?

It's so special... in GB, you did not get the S6 Plus, but you got a S6 2.2 20V with all the special S6 Plus specs. -Black roof S6 Plus -black trims until roof S6 Plus -black glossy outside B, C Pillars, grille, roof rails, door opener inside -odometer S6 Plus -S6 Plus rims -leather alcantara seats Do you know if that package neede to be ordered separately or do all S6 from 1996/97 have the S6 Plus parts? I wished, all other S4 and S6 got these parts. I changed all in my 93 S4 also into S6 Plus. only the seats and odometer is still from the S4.

Is it possible for you to get your hands on a new S6 plus grill, I’ve been looking for one for awhile?
