You are just incredibly on top of your game when it comes to how clean and presentation focused the style of your videos are (it reminds me of Optimum who I feel has a similar very clean style). Hey Josh, Happy Holidays. I got my notification for shipment from Periapt, so even though I won't have everything before Christmas, it's good to know that they are on their way. I have the Hart interchangeable cable and termination sets, so I am real curious to see how the Periapt differs. I have really enjoyed the functionality of the Hart system, and I think they are quality, just hoping that the Periapt have less microphonics so the sound quality is even higher. I don't get microphonics with all of the Hart cables, but do on certain headsets, especially my DROP Sennheiser HD-6XX. Looking forward to all your content coming in the New Year!!

Couldn't help to notice the WA23 lurking in the backround, Audio engine make a nice monitor for half that price and my NiceHCK F1 planar IEM were a plesant surprise. Have a great christmas.

This is my go to channel for anything headphones/setup now, this guy seems not pretentious and his voice and the sound of this channel is really good on my ears. I love the series about setup on different budget. hope he can do setup on different genre as well, Im more like a classical/vocal listener, hope for consideration.

This might be a little left field, but I would love to see a test of the Acoustic Energy AE1 Active speakers. They are studio monitor like and have gotten great reviews elsewhere as well. Also keep the content coming and have a great holiday!

Awesome videos. But I have 2 questions that weren’t answered in your video explaining the input/outputs of DAC’s. #1 Does the music sound better, utilizing an XLR connection from the DAC to the amp or receiver? #2 DAC is just for 2 channel stereo signals only, right? I can’t connect my iPhone to a DAC out to a receiver and hear her spatial audio through my HT speaker setup, right? Thanks.

For me it's the AKG k712 pros I recommend AKG k712 pro with the Yaxi Pads + the removal of the dampening foams behind the stock pads.

I enjoy your reviews thank you! What is your response to all of the internet chatter about HIFIMAN quality issues? I’m a relative newbie and was very close to buying my first pair of hifiman arya cans but got cold feet when hearing about driver issues, etc. and opted for sennheiser HD660S2 which I love. I’m interested in trying close backs and even something higher end just to hear the difference. Thoughts?

You should make a review on the AKG N5005. Just picked them up, and I'm just blown away. I think it's the most under reviewd IEM, and they are only $200 right now that's down from the original price of $1000. Please make a review. I would love to have your input on these. They come with 4 sound filters, ballanced 2.5 and single ended 3.5 and even a Bluetooth cable! The presentation blew me a way, and the sound is super clean to my ears.

Hey Joshua! I’m looking to get something wireless I can game on my computer with and listen to music to on my phone when I’m on the go below $250. I’ve been looking at the Logitech G Pro X2 since it has Lightspeed for my computer and bluetooth for my phone. The thing loose so good but people say it doesn’t have the best bass. What can I do?

Ive been saving up (every time I almost get there something happens) for two years wanting the Sennheiser HD800 or Sennheiser Drop HD 8XX. I see on eBay there are used items; hopefully I will win the bid. What would be a good amp for around $250 used? That could handle the headphones, and is there anything else I would need other than the headphones and the amp? (I hope not.)

I have a couple of headphones, the HD660s, the HD600, and AKG702. For my digital piano, the AKG702 is amazing. I love how open they sound; it feels like I’m not even wearing headphones and that I’m listening through speakers. However, my digital piano and even my audio interface (minifuse 4) struggle to power the AKG702s. I was thinking of getting an amp, but I’m wondering if I should just upgrade headphones? What’s your recommendation?

The price difference is astronomical. But so are the specs. I can absolutely say the R7 is worth it. But at $1650 with the psu... i can think of a LOT of better ways to spend the money imo. Like an R7 or DMP6 out to a good dac amp combo.

They're only 399 on Prime Day. I think it's a personal choice & some people become attached to one... he's obviously attached to the 600 & the PC38X (the latter of which is definitely surpassed by so many other things - but they're brilliant cheapies).

Don’t take this personally, but I think most of audio reviews just push products. You can get a very solid 500$ audio setup for desktop use. Schit amp/dac plus hd600 or 650 and you are golden. I think they would push less product buying if they bought the products themselves vs being sent by the manufacturer.

I do not understand the love for Periapt cables these reviewers have. Yeah, they're a good price, but I ordered 2 a while back; one for an Arya Stealth and one for an HD800s and they each sounded like I had shoved my headphones into a tin can (especially on the 800). I would take any stock cable over those. To each their own...

Agreed. I'm not understanding how a hifi channel having great amps and headphones uses cables that degrade the sound. There is no $10 cable on the planet that will not eat signal, no matter how short. Try Mogami at least. Actually buy Mogami, not try. Then there are others more expensive and dimishingly better, but the ROI sweetspot is Canare or Mogami

@@joewaid up to personal preference and also unit variation, some hd600's sound like 650's and 650's can sound like 600's, but usually the 600 has better vocals but 650's got more bass extension

While I respect your point of view, if you notice it shows he is conscious when he does advertise something, he tries every effort not to overdo it. He always tries to maintain a class throughout his videos. Yes, it’s a repeat mention for who follows all his videos, but he needs to keep the first time viewers in mind as well. The value we get out of these premium quality free content, these mentions are fair trade off in my opinion. 😊
