Along with everything else this administration tries to do to make American's lives easier. Just think of all the things they could do if they weren't restrained by the other party. The reason I am even more terrified of the mid-terms. The majority of American's voted Biden in Office because they liked his policies. It's a real shame they will never see the majority of them.

McCarthy, "The committee ever replied." They did reply, they sent you the subpoena. That's how this works. Whether we're talking about a Congressional Committee, a Grand Jury, or a Trial Lawyer.... First, you're asked to volunteer the information requested, then when you refuse by stonewalling and replying with demands that have nothing to do with the requestor's obligations, you're subpoenaed and forced to give up the information requested. That's a reply.

I said it yesterday, I'll say it again: I'm still kind of shocked by how McCarthy just goes on national TV and blithely assumes that his voters (and I guess most of the Fox News audience) are either so incredibly corrupt or mind-numbingly stupid as to simply ignore the fact that McCarthy himself frequently cheers and praises Trump for the exact behavior he is accusing the Democrats of in open denial of the public record. He's literally saying "I know that you're either far too stupid to figure it out or you are like me and just want to personally profit as much as possible from the destruction of America , or you wouldn't be in the cult" on live television.

*Every time* a Republican says "instead of , we could be spending time / money fixing ," they're on record as constantly voting against anything to fix "issue B." Ron Paul says money we spend to aid Ukraine could help the poor at home, and then votes against any aid to the poor. McCarthy says instead of paying attention to their attempt to overthrow democracy, we should fix gas prices, and then votes against the Fuel Price Gouging Prevention Act.

Based in HK, watched the coverage this morning. Thought it was an excellent kick-off for the rest of the hearings. However, if Americans can’t bring themselves to be concerned about an attempted coup because it was orchestrated by a POTUS they supported, then the level of partisanship means you’re doomed as a democracy anyway. Your constitution and laws should always come before party and politics.

The end of Trump's term gas prices were at a record low because no one was driving anywhere. Now there are worldwide high prices because use is back up and supplies (mainly Saudi Arabia) are not back and there is a Putin war in Ukraine. McCarthy's price comparison was of course nonsensical.

I understand refinery capacity is down, too. Refiners aren't going to _add more capacity because they realize oil use will be dropping. They don't want what's called "stranded assets."

See, I'm going to have to disagree with one particular part of this Closer Look. At one point Seth says "we're all capable of caring about more than one thing at a time..." and is somehow unaware that Republicans are *_completely incapable_* of actually doing exactly that. Absolutely everything is either/or with them. There is no nuance or shades of grey, they either care or they don't, and they only have the attention to care about one thing at a time. Republicans are notorious for being single-issue voters because they are single-issue people.

I don't think we're very proficient in separating fact from fiction. With that in mind, I believe the best we can do is always assume that we are, to at least some degree, wrong. Instead of trying to confirm our biases, maybe we should be trying to disprove ourselves, and taking the arguments of our opposition seriously. Even taking these measures, at best all we have is our own best educated guess. The only thing I know, is that I know nothing, and I hope I never forget that.

I met Rudy Giuliani in October 1994 while he was Mayor of NYC. I was an Attorney Advisor at the Administrative Office of the US Courts in the Article III Judges Division. It turns out that my College Republican husband Brad met his 2nd wife Kansas City MO in the same October 1994. On 7/19/2004 Brad called me at my law office because his mother Sonja Ann Hughes was dying at Easley Baptist. Her last Thanksgiving on earth in 2003 was spent in Columbia SC where her 2 sons were fighting.

@@rebeccap274 what do you mean but 10k jobs, there is no pipeline that cane give 10k jobs, there is no pipeline that can give that many jobs, they are stretch the truth like " In the next Ten years the may make 10k jobs" which may not even be close to the amount if they are think about having a high turn over rate. most pipeline only need about less 1k people to build it and then about a few people may 2 per mile for the upkeep. so no 10k jobs where lost where ever you read that is lie. no new pipeline has ever lower the prices, also has you can search no CEO will ever try to lower the prices, right now there have been many CEO on record that say they will not start any new production and they goal is to not lower the price. Joe is trying to fight this but doing the "Use it or Lose it" trying to get companies to use the land they have lease but are not using to drill , this will make more company to drill but will do very little on the price. the only way to lower price, will be to national. at that point it will be America 1st, because once it national it will own by the people
