Thanks so much for this. I went for the hybrid choice and it really is the best option for the m50x. Sound wise I think it’s more pleasant to listen to than the stock pads and definitely more comfortable.

Nice review! I'd buy the sheepskin personally due to no issues with flaking or falling apart. I got two pads when I bought my ATH-M50x used: originals and Brainwavz HM5 angled. I think the Brainwavz pads were velour because there was no bass. And so began my search for the best pads. I had Wicked Cushions pads where I cut out the thick mesh because it was muffling the mids and highs and the sound was good, the bass was good, but some details were lost due to more distance between drivers and ears. I had these for maybe two months before I decided to get new sheepskin pads because I hated the idea of periodically having to buy replacement pads. So I bought chinese sheepskin pads for ~23 USD. Details a bit better yet still some details were lost. Bass was good. The fit was looser which meant easy install but they tended to spin (haven't fallen out once though). I had these for a few months. Then I randomly stumbled on thin-looking genuine leather pads from the same seller as the sheepskin pads. Same price too. So I ordered these and anxiously waited, and boy, when they arrived 50 days later, was I in for a surprise! Best details I've heard, true OEM pads are still best sound-wise, but not by much. These are comfortable, put your ears close to the drivers, and are noticably louder than the two pads described above. You can literally hear every detail of the song, too, and the bass quality is out of this world! They tend to amplify any bass if it's there, but not make it overpowering if it's strong, thus making you hear the tiniest bit of bass if it's there, while not making it overpowering and all the other sound aspects (mids and highs) are unaffected. I can't say where I got them due to KZfaq deleting my comment if I link or mention where, but you can easily find the link if you see my video on changing the ear pads on ATH-M50x - the link is in the description. This comment is not meant to detract from Dekoni pads or advertise, I just felt the need to share my find of amazing, genuine leather pads that are cheap enough to buy. If I stumbled on your video before I went on to buy those chinese genuine leather pads, it's highly likely I'd have went for Dekoni sheepskin pads. P.S.: use AutoEQ with them, it removes the boominess of the bass and increases detail and makes them as neutral-sounding as possible, you can use Wavelet on Android to take advantage of it.

I just don't want the pads to be too thick. I take these outside and don't want these massive pads on the side of my head while on the street. Dekoni seems to be a decent compromise.

Have you tried the gel one yet? I am curious how much they change the sound and how much more comfortable they are. Thx for response!

Hey! great video, but I'd love to see the longetivity of these pads too. Will the new platinum Leather earpads last longer then the choice or BrainWavz sheepSkin earpads?? I am lost in chosing between Brainwavz sheepSkin OVALs / Dekoni platinum Leather or the Dekoni Hybrids.

Hi, great comparision, but when you describe first left suede pad, you call it velour pads. 😉And hybrids are best one, I must agree with you.

Would you say the hybrid pad is a bit more comfortable than the stock pads? Comfortability is my only issue
