Respect for that first cop who put his ego aside and accepted he was wrong

What I will say is fair play for copper to saying "sorry, he was wrong".. never thought I'd ever hear those words

The officer who admitted he was wrong and made an apology was a decent guy. Had no ego. Was respectful and left you to it eventually.

I've watched hundreds of auditing videos, and the first copper in the car has been the very first to say, "I was wrong". So nice to see and hear a humble policeman! Good on him. No big ego!

A police ride along with AB would be hilarious, cops would be on their best behavior yo.

Credit to the officer in the car...he wasn't sure so he radioed in and when he realised he was wrong he backed down...none of the ego that so many officers show, so respect!

Wow, I couldn't be prouder of my town, our local cops did us proud, (except the fool in the car park.) Thank you for the visit AB and maybe a ride along would be good fun to see.

At least that cop was man enough to apologise and acted pretty professional, that strength of character is rare in our police, he deserves some respect.

A copper 239 that admitted he was wrong, never heard that before, but if he was unsure of the legislation he shouldn't try to enforce it, and one 'staff' who is completely OTT with his attitude, who must have been told to leave you alone because he legged it sharpish and didn't 'keep of the grass'. Top marks for the ladies at the front desk, helpful, and polite, willing to go that one step further.

Looks like a town that time forgot, just beautiful. :-)

To be fair we are all human and he openly admitted when he made a mistake - yes he was wrong but quickly sorted it as soon as he knew.

He is only a tough guy when protected by a fence haha

Hey AB, it’s worth reading up on the GDPR rules. For example (and they don’t like this), you have a right to make a DSAR verbally, or in writing, and to any member of staff. You could have literally said ‘I’m making a data subject access request for a copy of the photo that was taken of me’, passed her a copy of your email address, and then just walk away. Under the law, that’s a perfectly valid request, and they’d have to comply ‘with no undue delay’ and certainly no later than 30 days after the request is made. They cannot insist you do it in writing or online - if they do, they’re not upholding your rights, and Article 82 gives you a right to claim compensation!

Well done for who ever corrected copper over the radio. You have saved the day for Your colleagues!

Bury St Edmunds is a lovely town, you are right it is clean and worth of seeing. I lived there for a year and my house was right next to the Greene King brewery. The old town is great and there is also the smallest pub in Britain, called The Nutshell. Ah, this brings all the memories back, thanks for that episode.

Both ladies, were very professional. A credit to the force. And fair play to the first cop, putting his hand up and admitting his error, after all, we all make mistakes.

Stunned that the copper checked up as he wasn't sure , then admitted he was wrong and apologized . A proper grown up policeman ....very rare !

An absolute breath of fresh air. For the first officer to check police legislation first then apologise for being in the wrong was fantastic! The ladies in the office were really helpful and very polite too. Their suggestion of a ride along though I don't think isn't a good idea AB I think you'd end up driving the chief inspector crazy reeling off every bit of legislation known to man 🤣🤣🤣.

The girl at the counter is slow timing you. Civilian Police staff have a staff or MAN number, they all do whatever force they work for. It will be on their identity card.

Apart from eyebrows, everyone did the best they could. And a police officer who says sorry is almost in my 70yrs, unheard of. The difference is this officer said sorry like he meant it. Just how it should be. Oh, and the T word was not mentioned.

A great opportunity to be chauffeured around in a squad car with a person of interest, such as the chief inspector. Or the OIC of the day. (Officer In Charge) It could be a fantastic way of bringing it to some very interesting questions, and information, to the publics point of view. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Big up to the women at the front desk. AB...I was there yesterday and audited police station and investigation building across other side of town. I got removed by lots of officers from the car park. I met one of your fans there.

That took real courage for the officer to admit he was wrong.

whenever I hear anyone say "sorry, I was wrong" they increase massively in my estimation. Fair play to that officer, checks his facts before he commits- what a nice guy.

The whole ride along thing is sketchy, every police officer in these audits never comment on other officers actions or other stations behaviour, yet 1 ridealong provides a 'true' insight in the OVERALL performance of the police? Maybe the lady with 32 years of service at Bury hasn't ever encountered much tyranny (Seems like a nice station/area) and is a little misunderstood with how people's liberties and rights are infringed upon nowadays.

I want to see AB say to an over zealous jobsworth "Have the public had reason to speak to you before?" , "Have you been in trouble with the public before?" and "Are you refusing your details?"

Rumour has it bushy eyebrows was actually on the way to the barber when you encountered him and was running late, that's why he was in a rush walking away from you. He got the barbers special, eyebrow job, nose hair removal and bum and sack wax 😅

Nice. My home town. There's a big "investigation centre" further down the road. It's a dying town, so mainly the police just attend traffic breakdowns.

I ride along would be cool for you to do, something different that I’ve seen a few Auditors been offered, only thing is, we all know that it doesn’t give a true representation as, as soon as they know the camera is there then they will approach what ever in a totally different manner. And we all know this is a fact. That’s why it’s not something that is that appealing. How ever with you there it would be interesting.
