Mall cops are a joke. 🤣🤣 When I was 19 I was dating a girl who worked at a clothing shop at the mall. I was approached by a mall cop who she turned down for a date. He told me that he was going to charge me with trespassing and stalking. I told him I would leave and instead went to the mall office to explain it to the mall management. They fired the mall cop because I was not the first one to complain about him kicking teens out of the mall. I also showed them my receipt for stuff I had bought that day so they wouldn't think I was loitering either. Manager was cool, apologetic and even gave me some meal vouchers. Best thing to have done was call management and complained about the security.

Without video it would be very difficult to get any sort of resolution. No one knows what happened with the kids, but I have seen lots of times when a store, museum, or even a church should trespass a family for unwillingness to control their children. Property can be damaged and individuals can be injured (for example crawling around on statues or fountains). Shouting should never be done by guards though. That just amps up the interaction. First tell the children and then attempt to inform the parents if they can be found (which sometimes is an issue). Some actions can be so ridiculous as to lead to an immediate trespass.
@themonkeyhand
@themonkeyhand Жыл бұрын
Or the mall manager since they are contractors. The camera guy comes off as pretentious prick. The security guy is 'just a mall cop" but he's also empowered by the owners to trespass people off the property, it's his job so belittling him for his job (not his actions) is pretty low. Security people don't just appear from no where for no reason, they're hired and paid to do a job. In any case a couple of numbnuts give us all some entertainment. Edit: Jesus that cop was a prick too, what's up with KY, good lord, they need some weed and a night of good sex.

Boyd county KY resident here. This is an extremely corrupt section of Kentucky every cop is in the pocket of all the judges in the district. They are notorious for violating rights. I was once “pulled over” in my driveway sitting in my car charging my phone smoking cigs with a friend when a Boyd county sheriff pulled up behind my parked car (I did not drive the car in the last 5 hours at the least) it ended up being a cop that we went to highschool with that was bullied for being a tattletale. He immediately demanded my friends and my ID without even articulating any specific crime committed and proceeded to say that my neighborhood which consisted of elderly people at the time was a “high drug area” (where I live is pretty much Mayberry) and stated that he suspected me of potentially stealing from cars or planning a B&E. I was still in HS at this time after stating I wasn’t obligated to give him ID he threatened to arrest me and my friend and I said that I could get my father out to verify that I live there, which the cop said I didn’t (he knew I did, I was apart of the friend group that bullied him) he said it wasn’t necessary to get my father involved and I gave him my ID and he still made me verify my address on my ID, I then made it clear I knew who he was and after verifying that I lived at the property I told him to leave that he wasn’t welcome there he left and then after the incident for several months he would wait outside my house and follow me wherever I went. His name is Brett Ritchie and he no longer is with Boyd county but he works the next county over now. It’s so corrupt around here I wish someone would shed some light on the stuff that goes on around here it’s insane.

@@bechill2174 the law is the same here in the US. Trespassing someone doesn't require any form of ID - though ID is convenient to have. You only need to inform the party that they are no longer welcome and to vacate the premises under the control your employer. If they refuse to leave - or are found to have returned after being properly informed - then they are in violation of the law and are subject to arrest proper. Some places have a more-devious method by which they post signs for the use of the property ONLY following X, Y, Z rules, and noting that people engaging in X, Y, Z are trespassing. Then it is up to the officer whether to arrest the person or not

The guy probably didn't even make the call it was his supervisor. Guards rarely want to do stuff like this. We don't take oaths to keep you safe we are paid hourly to keep peace on private property. Had a problem in a shopping mall once. Having tried following another customer, the security did a full about-turn and stepped straight into me. Instead of a simple apology for his negligent actions, the security guard tried blaming me then (when I politely remonstrated) started to claim I was causing trouble.! Remaining calm and collected, went direct to shopping mall management who immediately intervened. Situation ended with a very public apology from the security guard. My advice in such situations is always to calmly approach shopping mall management rather than bothering with security.

He obviously wasn’t there when the situation occurred, yet he talks like he was right there any saw what happened and is extremely rude to the security guard from the beginning. Edit: the way that he described what happened to the cop is way different from what we saw actually happened. He made it seem like he was all friendly towards the security guard when he approached. Something tells me it’s probably a pattern his wife did too when she told him. She likely downplayed her part in what happened to be kicked out.

The cop seemed pretty calm to me. His first words were, "First of all drop the attitude", then there's a small cut in the video followed by, "..because he wants you trespassed". Pretty straightforward request. He certainly didn't initiate the encounter with a hostile demeanor, as ATA claimed. And since Family Guy elected to edit the video at that point I can only speculate that this was because the unedited video wouldn't quite fit his agenda.

@@jasonbush741 It's not a crime until you either return or remain after you've been trespassed though, so the guy didn't commit a crime and therefore there was no "crime in process". Security, acting as an agent of a private establishment, can absolutely kick anyone out for any (non-discriminatory) reason. Saying he went on a power trip when a random irate dude came up to his window and started berating him (who was, as it turns out, mistaken about the facts of who security can kick out and why) and he called for actual law enforcement is odd.

As far I am aware of, security can trespass anyone that is not for discrimination. Although citizens are protected from being criminalized from majority of free speech, but that do not mean anybody can walk onto a private business and make other patrons & employees uncomfortable, that would include mouthing off to or in front of patrons & employees and failing to control their kids.
