The Augusta Heritage Center of Davis & Elkins College is known internationally for teaching, presenting, and nurturing traditional music, folklife and folk arts. It is best known for intensive week-long workshops in traditional music, dance, craft, and folklore.

Valerie Turner. I love her style. Simple, articulate, driving, wonderful. I try to play acoustic blues which means I find a lot of players to watch. Valerie is my new favorite. I rented a steel resonator guitar for a few days and found it really tough to play!

As an old guitar player, I recognize that Valerie is special. She plays advanced stuff with such a light, graceful touch, while singing beautifully. They go out to peaceful country locales, away from the noisy rat race, and it's ear-insulting music, and we all travel back in time for a few moments. A living art experience.

Very nicely done. That said, the guitar & harmonica are out of balance. Guitar softer than harp. You could bring the guitar's presence up in the mix and control the volume if you used finger picks. Best regards.

"Sterno Canned Heat", fuel made from denatured and jellied alcohol, designed to be burned directly from its can. "Canned Heat Blues", a 1928 song by Tommy Johnson on the drinking of alcohol from Sterno Canned Heat

The Sterno and similar brands of alcohol used for cooking food weren’t always “denatured” it was at least for a time made with plain ethyl alcohol and was essentially moonshine and safe to drink. It was eventually made with methyl alcohol added to discourage people from drinking it, and if you did might make you blind or kill you.
