I never really fully appreciated the music of Mr. Ysaÿe until I heard it played by Mr. Hadelich. This performance is nothing less than mesmerizing. New words need to be invented to more accurately describe the magnitude of Mr. Hadelich's performances. We are so fortunate to be living in an age where we can employ hi-tech audio and video equipment to capture performances such as this, which can be and will be treasured for probably hundreds of years.

The voicing, the intonation, the clarity, the phrasing, the total ease with rubato, the joy he seems to have as he “discovers” the piece while playing it. Just phenomenal. I have quite a few Ysayë recordings that I love, and I’ve worked on most of them myself, but I’ve never heard or imagined it like this.

Lieber Herr Hadelich. You are the brilliant and a gift from God. Ysaÿe and you accompany me in my grief and help my soul. Your music Reminds me of Leonardo da Vinci's Saint John the Baptist. Mit bestem Dank.

Dear Mr. Hadelich, I am a new fan of your glorious violin performances. Just recently saw you perform in Phoenix where you played the Beethoven Violin Concerto , followed by the exquisite encore. I am a ninety-one year old lady who is so happy to have discovered you and your heavenly mastery of the Violin. Continue to be well and wonderful. Ruby Kaufman, Tempe Arizona

hohoho, studying orchestration I had to analyze this work. Listened to several versions. This one is just stunning. How well artistically played, this is why music exists! It's not an easy work, there are so many ideas, some of them actual jewels. This man plays all of them. sol fa# mi, so beautiful especially in Sarabande. Even in Finale, ideas are so clear, so beautiful played, perfect technique. Will follow you, congratulations, félicitations and felicitaciones! bravissimo, maestro!

His pureness in sound and depurated technique is so inspiring. Another violinist that inspires me as well is Hilary Hahn. Their music is just so beautiful.

Ysaye was a man really inspired by Bach and this sonata (besides obsession sonata) really shows that mainly in the chords, rhythms, and with snappy dotted rhythms with passages of constant non-dotted rhythms, you basically have Bach or at least have a Bach/baroque piece with that baroque dance feel.
@Scriabinfan5934 жыл бұрын
Also I love how Ysaÿe’s sonatas sound a like Bach but very dissonant

Authentic_Bush think the dissonance is more drawn out in Esaÿe-more prominent, perhaps? Go to www.coloradomusicfestival.com, and watch the Augustin’s concert- it’s the third part. He talks about Bach and Esaÿe, in some detail. Very interesting conversation.
