It was never clearly stated in series dialogue whether she was Samantha's aunt on her father's side or mother's side, but it was strongly inferred in at least one episode that she was a blood relation to Endora. In that episode Endora's powers get transferred to Aunt Clara, and Dr. Bombay says those powers could only be transferred to a blood relative.

Tante Clara était une dame au grand coeur 💖 dans ma sorcière bien aimée , elle a mit de la joie dans la série . Bravo , a toute les personnes qui on fait le casting pour cette série des années 70 . Elle était absolument fabuleuse et merveilleuse cette série . Je l'a reguardai quand j'étais petite . J'ai adorée 👍✨🌈 toutes cette magie . Jamais je me laisserai de revoir tout les épisodes a nouveau . A revoir j'espère un jour sur nos écrans français . ✌️😍✌️

I believe she won her Emmy for best supporting actress in a comedy series from this year.

I wish she did. Her only Emmy win was posthumous in 1968 which Elizabeth Montgomery accepted on her behalf.

No one in the world could have played aunt Clara better! I loved every episode she was in as a kid! So sweet and played by a such a sweet actress! I always wished she was my aunt as a child 😂!

Marion Lorne (Aunt Clara) was born in 1883. Whilst she had passed away before even I was born, I remember her well from the repeats shown on television in the UK when I was a child. She had a very special aura about her and that is part of Aunt Clara's character also.

That show was so fortunate to have aunt clara . I had a grandmother who was also a real witch. No kidding. She lived in deland florida and when we visited , she said go out and play in the yard. She had a huge yard . I said I hope there's some thing to eat out there because I get hungry playing in the yard. She said , abra cadabra , maybe you can sit in the big trees in the yard. I went out the door , and there must of been ten acres in her backyard that were all orange trees . My brother said , let's limb the trees, and there was a tree fort in the orange trees. I swear. As I got older , I learned that she had a hundred acres of her back yard all orange trees . They had built a huge tree house for us grandkids. She ended up dressing up asa witch for holloween , about the time wizard of oz movie , which I hated because of the wicked witch and the flying monkeys. Honestly couldn't sit thru that movie till I was thirty years old. Fly my little pretties fly !
