For me this song perfectly sums up what it’s like to fall for someone who ends up being bad for you. At first everything is wonderful and you fall in love with the idea of what you could have together and that makes you overlook all of the times they treat you badly. The little breadcrumbs they give now and again keeps you hooked. It’s almost like you don’t want to admit to yourself that you are wrong about this person and that they are not good for you despite the perfect image you’ve created in your mind. But piece by piece, after every time you get hurt you begin to see a little clearer each time until you finally see what has been obvious for a long time. That there’s ‘no love in the end’.

I've felt that.. That's a toxic relationship, probably with a narcissist, where the other person doesn't realize it due to the emotional manipulation.. That "there's no love in the end" is deep and often hard to actually accept.

It’s incredible and yet very strange how this song gives me arabic vibes in 0:32 while the rest of the song sounds very celtic and sometimes old western. Aurora is truly a master in her art.

I always have this one picture when I'm listening to this song: there is a little house at a lake. My best friend and I are drinking tea and looking at the beauty in front of us: the stillness of the water, the way little waves form as a wind brushes the lake's surface. I love this place and I'm so grateful that AURORA has written this song. Thank you so much. This means a lot to me.

Cool thing about this song, it’s really sad but it’s got this sort of irresistible rhythm that you just want to clap along to. It’s kinda like the song itself is a metaphor for the abusive but addictive relationship that it describes. Or I’m just crazy

Listening to this as someone who is constantly living with this kind of manipulation is really something. The battle i have with mysef day after day, to forgive and forget just because i "have" to. And the hurt it plants in me. I just want them to love me for who i am. And it's so painful that they will never do. This song has a very personal place in my heart

i was in a toxic friendship for a while. a mistake was made and i spent a while thinking it was my fault before the friend dumped me. i spent over five months recovering and now they want me back. but this song has helped me realize that having them back would only drag me down. they were a big fan of aurora and expected me to stop listening to her once we “broke up.” but i will continue to listen to her.

Aurora, I’ve been listening to you for two years and half, I listened to this song when it came out, and I really couldn’t feel the lyrics , I really didn’t focus on them, I liked it anyway, Like all your songs… but in this period of my life is different. It’s like this song is speaking to me , And this happens everytime. Everytime something bad happens to me I find one song from yours that seriously represent my soul and my heart in that moment. I’ve been crying and screaming singing along to this song for the entire morning , You helped me so much, I don’t feel alone, I Feel that there’s someone like me, And I feel that I can overcome this period. Yes and yes. AURORA made TGWCT a masterpiece, again. I keep AMDGMAAF/deluxe close to my heart and refer to it as the best album ever made but with Aurora it's like the Escher (sp?) or Penrose staircase. So if someone says 'easily the best song of AURORA' you can safely give a thumbs-up. --Deluxe b/c of Wisdom Cries in particular. Oh and unlike that staircase thing this is not an optical or aural illusion but real as ryebread. cheers /// J.

To me this is about being stuck in an abusive relationship that keeps running in cycles, one moment its happy then its sour. This is why some people don't leave relationships like that because you forgive and forget hoping there is love but there isn't any in the end.

Saw you perform this song live in Bristol last night and it hit me in a completely new way. I'm currently struggling massively with anorexia and my god these lyrics describe my relationship with my ED. It's so hard to see how dangerous and evil the disease is when it takes hold. There really is no end to the fall. Thank you for your beautiful music and helping me discover who I am again and that I'm worthy of love and life
