There are many comments about how underrated Aurora is. But that is not true, she has millions of followers on KZfaq and she is huge outside USA. But she is not really going for the charts, she is just spreading her music to an audience that is prepared to enjoy and listen to her messages and vocal artistry.

I think that this is a candidate for the most perfect concert ever staged. A brilliant blend of Aurora's songs and well chosen covers (particularly "Walking In The Air" which sounds as if it was written by Aurora), the stunning venue, the immaculate production values, the superb supporting musicians and choir and the matchless charisma of Aurora's performance skills and personality. Copies of this should be placed in archives the world over to be viewed by future generations so that people can always be reminded of the power of music.

@@larryshair I also recommend this version of "Little Boy In The Grass": youtu .be/1kiV704Nd_I It is much more somber and sad version than the Nidarosdomen one but beautiful, it is really a sad song about getting over the grief ("Finally we are over it all") from the massacre in Norway in 2011 (apparently Aurora knew one of the victims). BTW the music video for "Giving In To The Love" has a premier today Oct 20th at 4pm UTC (12pm EDT): youtu .be/QrC8yyp32wY

She IS being put in the international digital archives because she is an international artist. And backed up on something like M-Discs which hold digital data for at least 1000 years. (It's a bit like chiseling digital content into stone.) Can you imagine. Us today finding someone like her who lived back in ancient Egypt or something. And being able to watch her?

This is undoubtedly The greatest piece of music ever created...forget all the mainstream crap, over produced, mixed, auto tuned nonsense we get bombarded with....this is real music, the way it should be. Honestly, who cares anymore about the "popular" crap out there....I certainly do not. Two of the greatest female artists...well any artist for that matter are from Norway...Angelina Jordan and Aurora!!!!!! We have to go to YT to hear these spectacular artists....music industry currently is not even worth our ears anymore....sad but true. Thank you to this beautiful young lady for being who she is. What a monumental production from all involved...simply mesmerizing. Sitting here balling my eyes out watching this girl...simply unreal.

Like a lot of the commenters below, I cry too sometimes during her performances. As a little girl in Norway she spent a lot of time alone in the forest with the animals day and night and has always been special. She’s a fairy, angel, and a unique being. She dedicated her song “Heathens” at Rough Trade East, London, to “ . . . the Mother who takes care of the people who aren’t welcome in heaven.” Like me.

The song "Little Boy In The Grass" is very poignant since it's about the ghosts of the victims of the Utøya massacre that occurred in Norway on 22 of July 2011. Aurora was 15 at the time and had a friend among the 69 victims of that awful, awful day...

Aurora is the very embodiment of a concept that doesn't really exist in popular music in this day in age. She is not just a songwriter, not just a singer or a musician. She is an artist. And I mean that in every sense of the word. She never dreamt of being famous, or topping charts, or making millions of dollars, when she was a child. She discovered music at a young age and felt it in her heart and soul. She grew to understand what creating music did to her on a personal level, but never thought 'hey, I could probably sell this!' When she was approached by her management company, she rejected them, saying that she had no ambition to be a singer. But it was her mother who explained that she had been given a beautiful gift, and it would be selfish not to share it. I believe that great music is no less an art form than great poetry, or sculpture, or painting. I believe Aurora sees music in the same way, and this vision remains her primary motivation, making her, by far, the most authentic, credible artist I have come across in decades!

Easily the best concert performance I’ve ever seen. It is women like this who change the world through class, intelligence, influence and humility. These are the idols our children need. Not “artists” that seek fame and money by peddling seduction and lifestyle. Aurora has more power in a single glance than any of those others have combined. I might be overstating… but I don’t think so. Please consider the performance of one of Dimash’s idols, Lara Fabian -Je Suis Malade from the performance “From Lara with love” a masterclass in story telling. Thanks again for sharing.

Nature Boy .. Nat King Cole, but a lovely companion to the heartbreaking “Boy in the Grass,” about her love, 17 to her 15, who passed with the other 66 children in the Utoya Massacre. You have to think it was those families in her thoughts as she spoke of sadness at Christmas. They call it 22 Juli there - Norway’s 9/11, to put it in context in terms of the broken heart of the country. Two attacks, 77 gone in a moment, hundreds injured. So much heartbreak. And 67!! were children. It’s devastating and I think important to understand her, maybe. Where *some* of the ache in her comes from, perhaps. It makes me cry every time I hear that song. And now they are stars. (Under Stars)..

Wikipedia : Nidaros Cathedral (Norwegian: Nidarosdomen / Nidaros Domkirke) is a cathedral of the Church of Norway located in the city of Trondheim in Trøndelag county. It is built over the burial site of King Olav II (c. 995-1030, reigned 1015-1028), who became the patron saint of the nation, and is the traditional location for the consecration of new kings of Norway... PERFECT for the kind of music she makes.

Aurora was quite young in this concert. You can hear, from time to time, that she has yet to reach the level of control that she now has. One such thing is that Aurora could go a bit nasal in parts of her vocalization but as the true professional she is, she overcame that. My admiration for this performer/artist/poet is ever on the rise. Wonderful. Just wonderful.

I think she was 21 here. It is important to remember that this is not a place created for modern electrically amplified music. It is a huge cathedral made of stone with a lot of delay and echo in the acoustics. The seats for the audience are not in the form of an auditorium as in a concert hall or similar. That her expression becomes nasal is a natural adjustment that a professional singer sometimes has to make in order to break through a rather chaotic or massive soundscape. Her usually soft and airy singing style doesn't work so well here :). The choice of songs, sound, instruments and expression was probably particularly adapted to the venue. I personally think she would instinctively do the same today in a similar arena.

So glad you saw this whole concert. This concert was my very first introduction to Aurora. I’d never heard of her when I stumbled upon this video on KZfaq a year or so ago. I literally felt like I was holding my breath the whole time I watched it. All the while wondering “just who is this girl?” As much as I’ve learned about her since then, I’ve concluded that she’s an extremely poetic old soul with endless stories to convey through music of many lifetimes lived and remembered. She is a teacher and a gift to those of us lucky enough to hear the stories she sings. Perhaps the most important thing to know is that she is also a very normal human being like the rest of us. Simply striving to persevere, learn and grow through the experiences and observations of life. One difference being that she has the desire and artistic ability to express it all in so many powerful and beautiful ways through music. Also, if you listen to her interviews, you’ll find that she has an incredible and very clever sense of humor. Lofty and creative in thought and quite grounded in her being.

Many reactors show the performances but without the intro, their's and your audience isn't aware of WHY Aurora performed the songs she did, in the order she did. You can't hear anything form the audience if she sings. This is a great respect to an artist. Nobody want to miss a singel tone. It's not often. And her smile - sometimes like she is thinking "I catch all of them" and sometimes it seems that she is only happy, because she is in the music - in her music. She was discovered at the age of 16, dropped out of school, and spent the next years touring the world with her first album. At the age of 20 she is at a breaking point. 1:04:20 or so....you really hit on it. Yes, her music is SO cathartic and emotionally resonant and creative and cool...that it's overwhelming. But....it's also interesting to notice...she's REALLY good. Like, technically, in terms of musical proficiency....she's ridiculous. People can't just sing like that...emote like that...bring their body, face, mind, voice....into PERFECT synchronization like that. It's so tight...but also super loose in a way. It's creative and well crafted. Basically this concert always reminds me of why Aurora is so special...but also reminds me that *music* itself...is hands down the best thing humans ever invented. It's the greatest thing we've ever created....the single best idea we ever hit on. Without it, life could exist, could go on...but why? What would be the point really?

The whole gig is absolutely wonderful, a lot of hard work has gone into making this such a special concert, Aurora is just doing what she does best, and her audience are spellbound. Magical 😄😄😄😄😄

The humility you need to end your own concert on someone else's song. She really doesn't care about fame. She just wants to sing, dance, cry and laugh. And she wants us to enjoy it with her. What a human. I really liked your reaction! Felt like I was enjoying this with you

I love your reaction to this. This concert is the most magical thing i have ever seen. If you're interested in seeing another, more uplifting kind of her performance check out her KEXP concert! (In fact there are two on KZfaq. Her performance in the one with 5.5m views is insane! And the second ends with a very nice interview with her)

I am always thinking of the word remembrance in connection with this consert. Maybe an old fashioned word, but the only one suitable for me. It's all about loss and recognition, but also comforting 🕊

I love your reactions to this wee star! I didn't appreciate her the first time I saw someone react. I thought she was too airy faerie. Then I decided to look her up. Much respect to her lyrics and musicality. She's exceptional. No ego.

Very nice reaction to possibly Aurora best concert ever! The Nidarosdomen cathedral is just a magical place. If you react to another concert of hers I’d suggest doing the KEXP one, it’s pretty short and you already reacted to one song there, Churchyard.

I'm so glad you paused there during Little boy in the grass, i was about to burst out into tears. Still ended up tearing up during the croshendo though :P This is definitely the more hopeful of the two presentations out here on KZfaq of the two :) I'm sure you have read from other comments what the song is about. I love that during Soft Universe, sometimes when the camera pans over the choir they are just grinning from ear to ear. Aurora just radiates such energy and emotion :D Thanks for another great video. Auora was supposed to have another concert at Nidarosdomen this year, outside this time in August. I had tickets and everything, sadly it got cancelled due to covid restrictions.
