Aurora gives 110% on every song. Unlike lots of performers today, she doesn't try and take breaks, unless she wants the music to shine further. She actively sings a lot of the instrumental moments. Really born to be an artist. The world needs more natural artists, not just people who grind the game, if you catch my drift.

@@joaomjguerreiro I love her cover of Life On Mars. In part.....because while I've always loved that song purely musically, I never really understood the lyrics...never had a clue what it was about. But now I feel like I have a real understanding of what the song is about. And that's thanks to Aurora....for whatever reason, through her cover, the lyrics clicked for me...and suddenly made contextual sense. The story being told. I get it now. I'd heard that song easily 100 times before Aurora covered it...and never wrapped my mind around the meaning of the actual lyrics. Really goes to show Aurora's talent....that she could make me understand a song like that, as if hearing it for the first time. :)

Many reactions comment that they would like her to show the power of her voice. Thats so wrong. She is a supreme example of less is more, and she uses the full power of voice when it is right. Simply put, she does not have to show off. Any «idiot» can hear the quality of her voice even when she wispers.:-)

Thank you for reacting to one of Aurora's greatest concerts. The Nidarosdomen is the northern most medieval cathedral in the world, located in the city of Trondheim in Norway. It is the traditional location for the consecration of new Kings of Norway, and took 230 years to build from 1070 to 1300. Every song of this concert is a gem, and several are masterpieces, especially "It Happened Quiet" and "Murder Song 5,4,3,2,1".

@Willy S I live in the UK (South West England) but yes indeed I am always interested in the history of the venues where my favourite artists perform. Also, I was particularly interested in the history of the Nidarosdomen Cathedral as I am a priest in the Church of England, and cathedrals in any country fascinate me. I would very much like to visit Norway in the future, but it will be quite a while before it can happen.

Hi Adam, love your reactions😉 I would like to say something about the lighting designer at this concert. Her name is Silje Grimstad. She is also Norwegian and lives in Bergen. A little rare with a lady behind these levers. She is a good friend of Aurora and, in addition to lighting control, has also been the tour leader on several of the tours at the beginning of Aurora's career. Shortly after this concert, Silje received an artist scholarship from Bergen municipality. She has excelled several times, including now during the pandemic, she created again with Aurora when they held a virtual concert in a hall full of mannequins in Bergen. Also a concert well worth watching. Aurora has a lot of good technicians with her here in Norway and we are very proud of the beautiful experiences they create together. Watch the Nidaros concert and notice the lighting. Silje creates incredibly beautiful moods and I think it is an important part of how this concert hits the youtube audience so strongly. I hope Aurora and also the people around her never let go of the imaginative, creative and yes childlike .. we can, and will, follow our own path. Greetings from a slightly older Norwegian warrior The online concert with Silje making light: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fpl8dsKl2qimoqM.html

There is something innately human about her songs. They hit us in a way that so few songs do. Each has a message that most can relate to. Her energy and story telling along with her voice stir up emotions that we've left behind. Each of her songs are powerful and personally bring me to a standstill every time I hear them.
@Jolene37

I can only describe her music as soul elevating. Her voice sounds like a sacred, ancient call coming from the center of the universe. I harken it to angels, too. She also sounds so pure and childlike at the same time. I am entranced as she lifts me into otherworldly realms through her spirit and song.

Rewatching this (with you lol) in the dog days of summer....trying to remind myself it'll be a winter wonderland soon... Just paused to say I agree with your reaction when Walking in the Air started. I remember being very pleasantly surprised by that choice. It's hands down my favorite Christmas/winter song. I'm American, but I grew up in France for several years as a young kid, and one very strong memory is of The Snowman being played every year around Christmas. I only spoke English then, so TV watching options for me were _very_ limited. David the Gnome was dubbed into English....and that's literally about it lol. In retrospect, I was lucky to grow up NOT deeply immersed in TV as a result. But.............The Snowman, crucially, was totally absent any speaking parts. It was just this magical story told with beautiful hand drawn animation and a musical score that still hits me in the feels to this day. So the song Walking in the Air has always meant a lot to me. And it's just a damn fine song. So when I first saw this concert, which was literally the first thing I'd ever seen/heard Aurora in, and that song started....I knew I'd stumbled across an artist I would love for the rest of my life.
@avedic
@avedic Жыл бұрын
I think it's also the fact that I've never met a single other American who knows about The Snowman, or this song. It seems to be a quintessentially European thing. Even though I'm American, those years growing up in France left me with a deep fondness and respect for European culture, across the various nations. And so this song is also kind of a lifeline back to that world....a world my fellow Americans know nothing about(or at least most of them lol).... :)

The location is the only real cathedral in Norway, the Nidaros-domen in Trondheim (Norway's 3rd largest city), pronounced "Nee-da-roos--doo-men" (attempted phonetics). It's really amazing. I went there once as a kid, and then again with my son (12yo) last summer. Went up in the spier/towers (outdoors). Very narrow and steep stairs, 172 steps in fact to the top. It's worth a visit!

Everything she does musically in a song is driven by the lyrics I think. Soft Universe to me is all about the lyrics “Don't let me turn into pain All of this is loveliness” and “make for me a soft universe”. She recognizes that in the duality of existence, everything exists with it’s opposite including all the loveliness. She is asking, knowing that it is a futile request, for a soft universe where just one thing, Love might exist without it’s opposite, pain. She expresses such deep concepts with simple words which is why I love her so much.

Nidarosdomen is the cathedral in Trondheim. Nidaros is the original name of the city, on the way into the city there is a sign that says Welcome to Nidaros, Ancient capital of the Viking Realm, founded 997 a.d. But it's so hard to get reactors to do this particular song, so when you decided to do the entire concert, I was overjoyed! Thank you!

Thank you for doing this. This is the first time I have seen a reactor watch this whole concert in one sitting, even though I have asked for it often. I instantly saved the video and watched in my sunday evening prime time slot. I have of cause watched this whole concert at least ten times before, but is is always better to share the experience. The arrangement of this concert is unique. Bringing in the harps, the choir and the organ just transport these songs to a completely different place than their album versions. I think you would be surprised to hear that Murder Song actually has a synth beat on the album. Still god, but so much different. I was smiling when you declared "This is the moment" just BEFORE It happend quiet, which is arguably the most prominent performance from this concert. The strongest reactions are often to that song. But for me, it I had to choose a moment, I think it would have to be Soft Universe. I am simply in love with this version. But it's a hard call with so many perfect tens. Once again, thank you. I really enjoyed this journey with you.

I've seen this concert so many times, but watching this reaction one made me stop flowing with the music and actually pay attention to every detail and then I cried. All the elements made them special, even with the song that I'm so used to that I usually skip them, but these versions are just so stunning. My tears are not that frozen now.

I love her cover of Life On Mars. :)

@@AdamStraughan Hay Adam. Go to her Instagram account and tell who you are and what you do and is your purpose in interviewing. I'm sure you'll get an answer. Yes or no, I do not know a another reacter who asked if she should not soon make a rap song. For him it was a joke. He was not prepared for an answer. She said. "Yes I have been thinking about that for a long time and is clearly something I play with like many other things. As possible sometime in the future. You ages know😀" He never believed in answers and at least not that answer. Was not afraid to ask her, but use Instagram. Glad to hear you got tickets to a concert in your hometown Newcastle. I know you will not be disappointed. You are the best👍💯🇬🇧🇧🇻

I didn’t know you had reacted to this amazingly beautiful concert until now 😅 But so nice reaction 👍🥰 I love this concert so much, and I’ve seen it many times 😍😍 It’s so beautiful with her fantastic voice and captivating performances. Plus her own band (with Silja, so it was at least one female backup singer 😉), the orchestra and choir, so beautifully done concert ❤️ I don’t know if you know this, but the song “Little boy in the grass” she wrote after losing a friend in that horrible terror attack 22 of July 2011 in Norway. She 8 people were killed in the Government building, and 69 youths on summer camp (33 under the age of 18) were shot to death by one single man.🥲 I hope he never gets out of prison! So every time she sings this song, I’m tearing up ❤️ Aurora is my favourite artist because of her voice, music and the person that she is🧚🥰 She doesn’t need a lot of makeup and dress sexy to get people to love her. She does it with just being herself, and she’s one of the most beautiful people in the world inside and out ❤️🧚 Love from Norway 🇳🇴❤️

Talk about birds of a feather, I think the only one that loves choirs more then you Adam is Aurora... If you ever visit Norway, you should really go to Trondheim and see the Nidarosdomen cathedral, it's an amazing building. A history come to life, kind of experience. One little quirk I like about it is that it has sunk several feet in places over the centuries (It is a VERY heavy building...). There's for example a little side door on the outside that is now three steps down from ground level, that was above ground when they built the cathedral...

I must say that I really enjoy your reactions :) you give a very honest, personal and respectful reaction towards the artists and your audience. I love the way you keep pauses to a minimum during the videos (facial expressions and quick comments can be enough) and give thoughtful comments afterwards. Pauses during videos are short and placed where it does not disturb the music. Many thanks for that! You seem to just take everything into account; lyrics, mood, background singers, instrumentals, visuals and the lead singers themselves. Thank you for great reactions 💯👍🏻
