I had the pleasure of meeting Alastair recently at a book signing at FantasyCon in the UK. Lovely guy and very down to Earth.

My wallet hates your videos. I just went on a Neal Stephenson and Guy Gavriel Kay books because I stumbled upon your videos for both.

I actually like this Revelation Space book the best; his later books are more tight. I pronounce it Pree-fect. I prefer the original title, The Prefect. Sparver the hyperpig is the man. This video is whiphound approved, wha-keesh! The stuff with the bomb in the boss's spine was awesome. Thank god for wiki's.

Pree-fect is correct, it's an old British term.

There's also a YA novel Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff to add to the confusion.

Wow. The inhibitor series was written by Peter Hamilton? Read them last year & I thought it was by Alastair Reynolds. Curious.

Hamilton, Reynolds, Banks, same difference...

I'm surprised you never reviewed Bester's The Stars My Destination. You could probably read it in an hour. I'm reading Niven's Known Space short stories Neutron Star. Scifi candy. Don't let the Puppeteer bartender's tongues touch your drink.

I bought CHASM CITY a while ago, since I heard it might be one of the more accessible novels of Alastair Reynolds … haven't read it yet, but it's good to know that there are more books in this particular universe to explore. My next book in line will be FRIDAY, which I also found here on your channel. And just a few minutes ago, i got my order with the first 6 Chung Kuo novels, which I also bought immediately after watching your video. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to read one book a day, so it will take a while … ;-)

Chasm City is set on Yellowstone and pretty much describes the place and all the horrors of it. So that would be a good starting point for these, I reckon.
