Wow, this video must have taken a really long time to make. Not only did you assemble the printer first and then disassembled it again for the video. But all the close up shots, the constant repositioning of the camera for the best angle. Not to mention having to rebuild the hot end, and troubleshoot the z height issue. And your brother did a fantastic job editing the video as well. Never missed a beat to highlight every step along the way. Fantastic work you two.

Great how-to video. I assembled my Sapphire Plus watching your instructions exclusively. I had both wires broken in the harness on the X limit switch 4 inches from the hotend. Keep up the great work. Dan

The kit I just got from Amazon has quite a few differences. The belt came affixed already, the Z screw nuts have oldham style connections so the screw can move freely(I almost think taking the top bearing out after assembly may help) helping eliminate Z banding. My bags are labeled differently and my Z axis motors are coupled together with a belt(I love this) but it has no adjustment so it will likely need one as the belt loosens up which I'll print and use a skate bearing for tension. Mine has only one endstop which is a lot easier. The bed also came with lattice glass and no bltouch included(here I use geetech v3.2 for $11 each shipped). My heated bed has wires soldered directly(very poor job and no constraint so it was weak out of box--one of my big gripes) with XT90 connectors which I like but again the connection point at the bed needs strain relief. My hotend also leaked out of box so I am rebuilding the entire thing with a dragon. There also seems to be some sort of intermittent connection to the hotend thermistor so thats probably gonna be replaced as well. Overall this is a great machine and the factory seems to really want to improve it. The linear rails are hiwin-esque and perfectly smooth through the travel with zero slop. I have MGN12s and HGR15s from ebay and they are nothing alike. I did have a small issue with one carriage where some rubber flashing was catching against the face of the rail and a quick swipe with xacto and it was fixed but this goes to show the tolerances are super tight. I think the Z will be changed to single stepper with belt drive but the stock configuration is really impressive.

This is the best "assemble your Sapphire Plus" video that I have found (and I have seen lots). It is also the one that convinced me to buy a Sapphire Plus and I'm currently following the steps laid out here to assemble it ... but I'm hitting some concerns/questions. As a noob in corexy I have no idea how "smoothly" those linear rails are supposed to run and how to lubricate them. In your video you seem to have a huge can of super-lube, but I only have the small tube that came with the printer. How much to put on the rails and where (in the groove?)? Other videos mention completely taking apart, cleaning and lubricating the carriages of the linear rails, but I don't feel up to that. Now on the z-axis (bed not yet mounted) the separate rails seem ok, but the pre-assembled top seems to bind a bit on the Y rails. The good news is that this is consistent over the entire Y axis, so I think this means the rails are parallel, but that the x gantry mounted on them is pushing apart or pulling them together. I tried loosening the x gantry a bit and then indeed things moved much more easily in Y, but as soon as I re-tighten the bolts, it becomes pretty "stiff" again. Then after adding the belts, things also take more force to move than I had expected (i.e. more than moving the bed or x gantry on my Ender 3). Is this normal and if not, any tips what to do about it?

Thermistor can be easily fixed and replace, see at 10:13, there is a screw for the thermistor cartridge on the left and another one for the temperature sensor below the nozzle :) However, this is a really nice video that helped me to build mine. Thank you !

As a sapphire plus owner, I feel you. This thing was a nightmare at first. I just ended up getting a really flat bed and skipped autoleveling altogether. Though, I would like to get klipper running on it. And totally replace the part cooling, as these fans just don't really blow on the part at all, the air flow is totally out of the way of any freshly extruded plastic.

You know, I've had this printer for several months, and haven't been able to get it working, primarily because I haven't been able to find any good instructions on the build, and some of the issues that come up. I was missing the same parts, had the same short cable, and thought, since this is my first attempt at building a 3D printer, it must have been me. Mine had a bad thermistor, and it took 2 months to get a replacement. (Actually, you can get it out. there is a tiny set screw hiding at the bottom of the hole that lines up with the thermistor. For some reason the top of the hole isn't threaded, but the bottom is. It's the same size set screw that they use to hold the heater cartridge in place. Nobody has made a build video that comes close the explaining things as well as this one. I have hopes of figuring this out now. (although I'm not quite sure how updating the firmware parameters work, but I'll hopefully get that figured out shortly). Thanks SO MUCH.

you should maybe switch the hotend, mine had realy bad heatcreep. I tried some mounts and finaly found one that keeps all the printspace and uses a E3D V6 with propper cooling, so printing in PLA is now decent. only issue is that I don't have a mount for the BLtouch I bought to fix the bad bed (I have a big hump in the middle). great Video and hope yours gives you less issues then mine.

@@AuroraTech unfortunately we don't have bambu to sell in Brazil :/. And the K1 is something around USD 1,000. This sapphire is about USD 500.. so I'm planning to buy the sapphire and make some upgrades to achieve the same quality and speed as the K1 with less money but more effort. Does that make sense ? Is it possible to achieve by upgrading the sapphire?

Hi, I'm already looking out for a 3d printer with some decent print dimensions. Preferably corexy with linear guides. That's why my attention is already some time on this two trees sp5. But I also see bad reviews. The other option is ender 5 plus. But that's no corexy or linear guided... I have a budget around 750€. So both printers are in range with some space for upgrades. Two trees sp5 + upgrades OR Ender 5 plus conversion to corexy... Which would be the better option? Thank you for your reply

I purchased from banggood for $375, but AliExpress is even cheaper. The v1.0 version in my video is just $330 now. a.aliexpress.com/_mLx4wQL The v1.1 version($478) has 3 major upgrades: 1. Glass bed 2. All silence stepper drivers instead of just X, Y and extruder 3. LED lights The upgrades are nice, but I don’t think they worth $150 compare to the v1.0. So, if the v1.0 is only $330, it’s really an amazing deal.

Yes, the v1.0 $330 should be the best deal for now. I'm recording a video to compile Marlin firmware (v2.0.7.2) with auto Z alignment for the dual Z motors. The bed leveling issue will also be fixed. I'll post the new video this weekend!

Now I have just received such a machine and can say it has almost only been with all the small flaws even though the prices have risen sharply. Missing screws and contacts etc. bent bottom plate lead swre plate bent, 1½-2mm skewed frame, software that does not work completely and nuts etc. must be tightened after, poor possibility of leveling the plate massaging the glass plate. So it's doubtful that Twotrees does anything to improve, really a shame because those are small things we talk about to have a really good product, so you want to buy one then take and decide to test it first or buy something else
