This is really beginning to look amazing mate. It's like an Aussie coral candy shop! One of the great things about this setup is it's relatively low maintenance and easily achievable for an entry level reef aquarist.

Easily achievable if you have a few thousand dollars to spend on Scolys haha

Your ability to properly ID coral species is inspiring and refreshing in a hobby full of folks who only care about the fancy names
@ReefBuildersVideo3 жыл бұрын
the naming game is getting out of hand, people are doubling up on names, forgetting classics, and just downright abusing it for wild corals
@harlowcreek3 жыл бұрын
@@ReefBuildersVideo I couldn't agree more with you! I really do wish more people took the time to learn species identification. For example between Montipora palawanensis, cebuensis and verrucosa. But when you go j to a LFS those types of coral are all "palawanensis".

Definitely needs to be called the candy shop! It looks like Willy wanka’s wet dream. Can we get a nighttime feeding update. Wanna see you go from polyp to polyp blasting them with some good food. I would love to see them all with the feeders out. Got a few scolys myself and have a huge soft spot for Them. Amazing animals and isn’t any other corals that give you that straight color dump. So delicate and “soft” for an ocean critter, they just present themselves well and beg for attention. That’s what you can call the tank... it’s your Kardasian wall! Everything in there is gorgeous and demanding to be looked at.

Going to try this in a 33 long with hang on backs, mini hob refugium, mini skimmer and two ocean revives. Probably will throw in a bubbletip as well as a bunch of rock flowers.

Jake , how did you place those scoly's on the flat rock ? Drilled a hole and epoxy or just epoxy ? Where did you get that " Flat Rock " ? What are you putting in your water for supplements that Duncan, it grew double in 3 months ? How do you stop a Scoly from Bleaching ? Who is your coral suppliers ? Bad Ass tanks , TY for showing us .

Hi Jake. How are you attaching your corals? It would take me about 2 weeks to try to stick all those corals on and then they would likely fall off anyway and then I’d tear my hair out and just rest them on the bottom. Thanks

I would love this even more if you fill in the back like a solid slab rock wall. If I ever did a tank again I planned to coat the back wall in the stuff false reef rock is made out of. This tank might be my favorite at the studio

I would be terrified about those bubbles going ballistic and nuking your scolies! The tank looks great but my green branching bubbles are down right predatory with anything that I put near them. I definitely wouldn't put expensive scolies within six inches of a bubble. Good luck. I hope your experience is different than mine. Cheers, Chris

Not trying to bash you or anything, definitely a beautiful aquarium and corals. And beauty is subjective of course. But placing a ton of the same type of corals is boring and plane looking. If you want a beautiful reef look, then placing all kinds of corals in close vicinity is the way to go. For example check out coral_fish_zoa on instagram. I think some pink/grey gorgonian and brown or dark sps definitely would spice this scape up a bit. BTW always love your content, you have insane amount of knowledge XD
