Crazy Hotpoint Washer

All concrete counterweights have been removed from this one :D, it will not take much to kill it.
I will do that outside when it drys up, its been raining for days now and 240V mains power does not get along well with water!

@Veikra they do make them, a friend at work offered me one that needs a new motor. I must get back to him on that and go pick it up. they are expensive but have all stainless steel inner and outer drums, and big heating elements/blower for drying. air gets vented outside,

It's funny how the machines all want to rotate in a clockwise direction. Does that mean in the northern hemisphere they will turn anti clockwise?🤣 Just like when water runs down a drain.

That's a good question: If the motor was reversed, would it want to rotate counter clockwise? Or, is it the Coriolis effect of the earth's rotation?

@fredlllll if they distribute evenly it would make for a nice amount of revolving mass :D, then throw somthing big in so all that mass shifts to one point in the drum :D

@ Aussie50: How can i do something like this, i mean spin the machine up without using the programming? Photonicinduction was pissed off when he could not drive a induction motor because of those stupid inverters (IGBT)...

Many older machines have carbon brush motors. you can apply AC or DC to the motor and it will run. It's just that the field windings, and carbon brush wires are separate, to allow the motor to run forward or reverse. The brushes are magnetically phased, for maximum RPM in the forward direction. That's what I recommend, for maximum spin speed. Other commentators noticed that he replaced the motor. It's likely that he's removing an induction motor, and replacing with a carbon brush motor, for just the reason you described.

The motor is original, he mainly removed the control board and wired it so he can manually control the motor.
