Nice to see an old fashioned repair instead of replacement which is how it was done at the time this car was produced 👍

Brilliant - well done ! I’ve been following your progress from the beginning and I’m in awe and admiration at everything you’ve done. In all the time you’ve done yours, I’ve done virtually nothing to my Stag :( I know you show what cleaning materials and equipment etc you use as you do it but I wonder if you could perhaps show a list of everything maybe in your next video ? Your results are fantastic and you’re very good about respecting your budget. Well done again :j

Wow! Very well done for another great video. I'm loving (and amazed) at the level of detail you go to in order to retain its originality. Most other people would have just bought and chucked on a reconditioned alternator. I know this vehicle is special to you and your family and these kinds of painstaking details are what makes the content so watchable. Looking forward to the next one. Will it run??? Yeah of course it will!!

Thanks for sharing this series! My first car was a 1972 1300 four door. It was very reliable - except the bracket for the radiator tore the holes out of the radiator front lug - we used epoxy to put that back... Mine had done around 45k miles when I sold it to a friend in the 80s. He took the engine to use in a mini with new head and various upgrades to make it sporty. I look forward to your next episodes!

A proper job done - unlike another video I've just viewed. Thank you for showing how it should be done!

Big well done on this. So many people (myself included) would have not put the time in. A great job.

Great job, well worth the effort and probably more reliable than a cheap exchange unit 👍

Did you grease pack the bearings before assembling or is that not usually done in an alternator?
@langranator

The modern bearings are pre-greased and sealed for life

How the hell did you remove the end plates, I had 2 alternators, both of them I wrecked trying to separate. Nice job buddy

Thanks! They came off quite easily with careful levering of a couple of screwdrivers and tapping here and there. I was expecting to have to get a puller/separator but didn’t need to in the end
