Coming from someone (me), who was an athlete trainer for high school sports, works in a hospital with TBI patients, and was bed ridden for a month because of a severe concussion… yes 5 knockdowns and not being able to walk CAN cause permanent damage. However, for Austin, the damage was done a long time ago for him. Not once have I ever heard something intelligent leave his mouth.

I work at the stadium and let me tell you it was extremely dead. Like there were times it was so silent I swear if someone farted from the floor seats you could hear it on the other levels 🤣🤣 They announced him as a “social media superstar” and it gave me second hand embarrassment because it was so empty everyone sitting on the sides could have honestly moved down to the floor seats.

I don’t think the issue was that Austin didn’t promote the fight The problem is the same than before, most of his fans are kids Kids don’t really care about boxing, if anything they might be interested in something like MMA but not in boxing On the other side, he also failed because his crappy company showed how bad they are at organizing events…even when that’s literally their jobs

I think promotion is part of the problem, cause if he promoted it well people who weren't in ace family's audience might have tuned in out of morbid curiosity. However, I do think the biggest issue is him clearly not knowing his audience, him having actual delusions about how relevant he is, and social gloves being generally bad at putting together events.

@@stinks7065 I think the price would discourage anyone wanting to see the fight out of curiosity not knowing the fighters, so I'm not sure better marketing would help. He is, as you pointed out, simply too delusional and thus unable to realistically set the price. I have a feeling that his reaction to anyone suggesting lower price would be along the lines of "do you know, who I am?".

It’s not the refs fault, first off it was up to McBroom if he wanted to keep fighting and guess what… he wanted to keep fighting. He’s a grown ass man and he gets to make his decisions. Also if the ref wasn’t going to stop it and McBroom didn’t want to stop it, than McBrooms team should threw in the towel by the 3rd knockdown.

I haven’t seen the fight and have no real interest to but if he was wobbling and struggling to stand up then the ref should have absolutely called it regardless of what Austin said. He may have been concussed and thus unable to properly consent to continuing the fight. Don’t get me wrong though I hold absolutely no love for Austin or Catherine.

The fight wasn’t called until the fifth knockout because McBroom likely had an agreement before the fight with the referee to let the fight play out. fighters have that in their contracts sometimes, and that’s possibly why after the 4th the ref said “one more time and i’m calling it”

I saw a little bit of the fight here on a KZfaq video and I have to admit my heart raced for Austin because it was super dangerous for him. By the first hit Austin was swinging weirdly and it just progressed to the point he couldn’t even stand properly. I don’t know anything about boxing but I do agree with some people that the referee should of called it earlier than when he did. At the end he got HUMBLEEDDD he knew he messed up. Austin is not ready to be boxing he needs a lot more practice, dedication and seriousness.

I watched the fight on someone’s channel and the hits didn’t look all that bad, he almost always just got right back up. Look at some boxers faces after fights and he didn’t look 1;8 at bad as the pros do. So, I can understand why the ref didn’t call it sooner.

It doesn't work like that. Facial and external damage is the last thing you should be worried about in boxing. Austin was severely concussed and was sent to the hospital in a stretcher. He could barely even walk. Probably has some permanent brain damage
