The reason that he started his own fighting company is that boxing as a sport is very personal and kind of archaic. It's not like say, football where you join a team and then you have a schedule set by some kind of upper authority. For two boxers to fight, their gyms/companies have to first extend an invitation to another one, and that has to be accepted, and then they need to agree on the purse and where it's going to be. A lot of boxing comes down to who your gym is connected with and their reputation. But beyond that, people have to agree to fight you. And all of this tape is just not what Austin wants. Instead, he started his own company which isn't recognized by the big four organizations, and as the promoter and owner he can determine himself who gets paid what. So basically, people agree to fight for him at his card, the one deciding what they're paid isn't the gyms of the fighters, it's austin working personally with the fighters. And as we've seen, he lowballs everyone or just refuses to pay them. And of course having a company llc means that he can be like 'oh it's not me, it's the company.' the thing to remember with Austin is that everything he does is out of greed, and he's probably taking a huge amount of shortcuts in order to get rich quick, which is why his reputation is terrible and all his events are shams.

The event has been rescheduled to September 10th and is now being held at the Banc of California stadium. The only thing Austin can't scam is his arrogance/stupidity. Wasn't free access to the fight via pay-per-view part of the Ace Fest ticket purchase? If the ticket sales were low already and you gave hundreds of people free access then it sounds like the event was in trouble and this Gib situation afforded Austin the opportunity to book a smaller more affordable venue so that he doesn't end up with another lawsuit against him.
