Austin Powers was my favourite movie series as a kid (I was definitely too young to be watching and it explains so much about my humour) and this theory is just smashing. Groovy even.

I always saw it as a sort of Legend of zelda prophetic cycle where an agent and a villain will always fight for all time. That's why the government doesn't take it seriously, because it has happened so many times before. And it's also why both doctor evil and his son scott have a strange, seemingly biological reaction to their poor parentage that leads them to turn evil and bald early. The time travel is actually what threatens to break the cycle, but the previous generation (Goldmember and Nigel) become involved to unknowingly act as proxies of whatever force is keeping the cycle going, thus reinforcing the cycle. And that's ignoring the possibility that Austin and Doctor Evil could have also been influenced to make strange decisions that coincidentally keep the balance. Then again, I havent seen it in a while, and I may be relying too much on the foundation of your mort theory and the story of Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom. so take this more as a possible thread if you find evidence more than an actual theory.

How "Swinger" can you get?!!

I rewatched the movie with the last theory in mind, and no, they are not the same bracelets. In the flashback their mother has a pearl/beaded bracelet while Goldmember wears a golden charm bracelet. I still really like that theory. The change in bracelet could be a metaphor for how he was and who he became. The movie does have a running theme of gender swapping. The woman in the beginning and end is called Dixie Normous (Like dick's enormous, as in she has a big dick). When Austin first talks to Foxxy Cleopatra, the person he faces is a man. When Scott runs away, Dr Evil says "No one else in my gene pool runs like a girl" and then it cuts to Goldmember, implying both that Goldmember is part of Dr Evil's gene pool and runs like a girl.
