Matthew Lo I sure didn’t cry, but I definitely had intense chills. My piano skills resumed in so long after hearing the two songs in this episode. And I definitely played these two on the piano as a comeback.

The song Spectacle is basically making fun of the superficial music of our time that is all glitz and glam and no substance, and the people that are easily distracted and satisfied by it. If you read the lyrics without the music in the background, you'll hear it.

This episode always brings the feels. Seeing Lucky salute and shed a tear... Brought it back in full. Tears where shed along with him. Yay! I love this episode, Applejack was great in it, and while I'm not normally a fan of hers I think that Amy wrote her really well (she will be missed, if you don't know this is Amy Keating Rogers last episode). This was just such a great episode (in my opinion). Great reaction you guys. :)

Oh my God thank you! I have watched tons of these reviews, and everybody's always just like "oh my God there's Octavia in the orchestra", but not one of them has commented about the fact that Fancy Pants was the conductor. It drove me crazy! So thank you for pointing that out!

They mentioned this already, but Lena Hall who voiced Rara at one point said 'Friendship is Magic' at the Tony Awards, and Hasbro found out about that. They contacted her and offered for her to voice this character, and she jumped at the opportunity. And she went all-out during the songs. I've seen people watch 'The Magic Inside' without context, and they often say things like, 'They really went this hard for a kid's show?'. This show really was something else when you think about it.

Ahhhh, seeing you guys cry made me cry!! This was such a beautiful episode, and avoided the whole trope of "Nice girl turned bitch after becoming famous" thing. Lena Hall did a gorgeous job in her role of Rara, and I really hope that one day she will come back, and her and AJ can be together again TwT

Having Tony Award winner Lena Hall involved in this one episode is INDEED magical. Hope the crew decide to bring her back in a future episode. The moment AJ and Ra-ra started tearing up and hugging one another, THAT had me sold. Friends to the very end. Didn't have me tear up, only gave me goosebumps. You Aussies are very committed to this show, no lie. I have a feeling this isn't the last we've seen of that stuck-up manager of hers.

And to think this was the episode that got me hooked onto MLP to begin with. Was never into the show from the very beginning. At least, until halfway towards the end of Season 5 back in 2015. Sure don’t regret catching it!

Best AJ episode for me but it was my favorite writer's last episode. Yeah I had a feeling a few of ya'll would get emotional. Wasn't expecting Toxic Hoof to cry though. Although Countess Coloratura's name makes it sound like she's a huge poser/phony because a countess is a noble from feudal Europe (think cont Dracula) she rather ironically became a beacon for keeping your integrity because she never sold out no matter how much her asshole manager Svengallop tried to make her; the only other modern singer/band who never sold out besides Jimi Hendrix was Freddy Mercury and Queen in fact I think when Rara said "the show must go on" that was probably a reference to the famous queen song of the same name this episode however also contains the shows best effort to sexualize ponies when Countess coloratura is singing "spectacle" her male back up dancer stand on their hind legs and gyrate their hips it's clear the animators had no idea how to make ponies sexual the producers obviously just told them to but the only experience they had doing that was making them beautiful; so they just figured have them do what humans do just shake their butts Michael Jackson style. That said compering Lena Hall singing the magic inside as Rara to Sia singing Rainbow in mlp the movie her emotion filled voice absolutely blows Sia out of the water .
