I spent 288 days away from home covering the 2021 F1 season so and I've finally made it back to Perth. Australian hotel quarantine; what's it like? It's 14 days long and you can't leave the room, for any reason. Watch this video for all of the this to find out compliments of www.canity.com

Before you start, thank you so much for everything that you have shared this year in F1. I have been blown away by all the behind the scenes, which car did they drive, watches, helmets, women in F1, parents. But most of all the travel that you have endured to get to each race. I remember you getting your covid jab at Bahrain as a complement from the government of Bahrain. I will miss you. You must of had so much support from your team in Australia, and of course Your amazing wife. Thank you.

Makes you wonder doesn't it, what was the point of the vaccine and constantly being tested if you're still treated like a Jew carrying the plaque? The world has embarked on fascism and most people seem to not care. No wonder they gave us all phones and computers so we feel we are free.

The sheer idiocity of this whole process some Australian regions implemented is beyond amazing. There is no state of mind I can imagine in which any of this makes a single hint of common sense. I am amazed and deeply dissapointed in humanity. The worst thing is, they charge you 2000$ for being detained for 2 weeks, being atleast 4 times confirmed negative in the process. Stay strong Kym, and keep your mind healthy, good luck!

To clarify for some people - the immigration card that Kym was holding up in the plane has been around long before COVID, and it's essential for passengers, as Australia's biodiversity and ecosystems are critical to maintain as we have lots of wildlife and plants unique to Australia. The two-week hotel quarantine is only applicable to Western Australia (where Perth is) as a result of the WA State Government being ultra-conservative on re-opening, which has been a hot topic in the news. In most other parts of Australia, where vaccine rates are higher, you can quarantine at home for a couple of days till you return a negative test after the plane trip.

Nice clarification Stuart. Australia does cop some bad flack regarding 'quarantine camps' and masks but these circumstances are nothing new given the 1918 pandemic also saw masks, isolation, distancing, quarantine and no large gatherings initiated by governments worldwide..

It was as if you stepped off the plane right back into April 2020. Good luck over the next 2 weeks, and I fully expect a LEGO update video soon!

@@michaelzdanis3979 Danny Ric is coming home to Perth this year. Celebrities however, usually get to do hotel quarantine in luxury houses, and given Danny Ric has a farm, i suspect he will get to do it there.

@@jennyh3640 Just goes to show that although all animals are created equal, some are more equal than others. The Australian COVID rules are ridiculous, and getting more so in the face of omicron which may be as much as 70x as transmissive as delta.

We have almost no restrictions at all. I've not worn a mask in tge last 6 months, and only for a few days in total. I went out on the weekend with zero restrictions. If the world followed WA's lead, we'd be on the other side of this pandemic. But no... too many people think their "freedom" is worth years more global disruption.

We already knew Omicron, although it spread more quickly, it was at the same time a far less severe strain, but the lockdown authoritarians couldn't stop themselves. The risk analysis was non-existent. Yes, protect those at risk. But pretending you can achieve zero infection was folly. Tyrannical lockdowns led to the ruination of lives and economies, and left huge debt that we'll all be paying off for decades, if indeed we ever pay it off. Meanwhile, the rich got richer, and the poor got poorer.

GREAT TO BE BACK HOME !!!!!! HAVE A NICE REST ~~~~~ I have visited a dozen times to PERTH. I LOVE the PEOPLE, SCENERY, WINE and FOOD. Especially the FRASER'S Restaurant up at the hill with VERY NICE NIGHT VIEW and the FOOD. Look forward to visiting Cairns, Perth and other places ........

Thanks Kym - I love your vlogs, especially the travel stuff. For other viewers, Western Australia has the tightest restrictions in Australia during covid and are mainainng it until 5 February. Hotel quarantine does not apply in the rest of Australia now. Also, the food quarantine is always strict. As an isalnd continent, we have been able to kep out many diseases (such as Cattle foot and mouth disease) by having such strict rules.

Thanking You all heartedly for all these little visual treasures, which for all of us, passionate about F1, the Sport that is, have been a nice company as, after all, you do not ask us to answer 'self-admiring' polls, with question as 'brainless' as what we thing about the 2022 championship, the changes made to F1 cars, and the Miami GP... Give us the events, in a non-simulated manner, and maybe I'll answer. Brilliant Kym. That's exactly what I did last year heading back to Sydney from Dubai - police escort and all - asap after the Abu Dhabi race and will be doing again in a few days time as I had to stay back and wrap up some business in Dubai. Enjoy the break.

Weird to think about how much I will be doing over the next 9 days knowing you’re going to be stuck in a Hotel room. Make sure you do some exercise. Muscle wastage is a real issue when you’re sitting around. Good Luck and thanks for the video. Great insight!
